So at the start of the season the big story around City was the squad is weaker. We allowed Gabby, Zinny and Raz to join so called rivals. Some fans of so called big clubs even quipped that was something they wouldn't do. The conclusion was team would be weaker. Yes Haaland is good but he is injury prone and Alvarez is not going to replace Sterling or Jesus goals.
Now I'm not going to pretend I was confident Haaland would storm this league as I bought into the injury prone sheit. We had lost Torres in Jan and the other 2 lads in the summer so yeah I was concerned.
But when I watch this young Argentinean lad play football Im like fack me, he could even be better than Sterling and Jesus. The kid is a very good footballer, with a huge football brain. The pass to Bernardo which leads to one of Haalands goals against palace is so impressive. Even the flick back to Foden in the box that also leads to one of Haalands goals.
I think this kid is soo good I can see him play alongside Haaland ahead of Mahrez or Grealish in some games this season.
Regarding the squad its stronger. Another CB brought in, Phillips is a huge signing if he can stay fit. I think Rodri gets found out sometimes especially when he is denied time on the ball. Lastly I like Gomez. There is a very good player in there especially defensively. Has the look of that Malacia kid at united. Low center of gravity but tenacious and will get games.
The academy players around the squad are are exciting, including Rico who Pep seems to like a lot. The manager looks really excited and happy lately. And we didnt sell Bernardo.
It could be a big season.

Looks like a blue chip talent based on the article

Very impressive. Shades of Sergio in the box, and of Bernardo when he drops back. Early days, but he looks quite a player.

That thunderbastard to the roof of the net for his second, was Agüero-esque.

What exactly is a big season for City when you'll have a stroll to the title yet again?

We're currently second, hardly a stroll.

4 of our last 6 titles have gone to the final day, this season will be probably be the same.

Yesterday we saw, yet again, another ineffective performance by Foden. The guy appears confused. Usually whenever he gets the ball, he most often simply gives it back to the player who passed it to him. Seems to have lost his sharpness and doesn't seem to be enjoying his game. Hopefully Pepe is also noticing this lack of productivity too and will either play him in a different position or sit him down!

Foden is our second best player after KDB (if you don’t include Haaland) and will play most matches.
He is just a victim of the fact that Pep wants him to play various positions like Bernardo.
Think he will eventually move into the DSilva role. The last 2 seasons are just preparation for him to play that position.

I agree that Foden isn't taking people on this season, the same thing that Sterling was doing when he lost confidence. I hope that he regains it soon but I would not play him tonight.
