Tottenham Line Up v Marseille / City

Morning Gents,

As we all know, the Champions League music will be belting out of our fantastic stadium tomorrow night, before we head to the Etihad at the weekend.

With 2 games in 3 days, we will undoubtedly make some changes, as we did v Fulham at the weekend.

Our line-up v Fulham:

.........................Lloris

..........Romero....Dier......Lenglet

Royal...........................................Sessegnon
............Hojberg........Bentancur

..Richarlison....................................Son
.............................Kane

Davies, Perisic and Kulusevski were rested, with the latter two making substitute appearances. Bissouma was back on the bench and Skipp made the bench too.

What are we thinking for Marseille and then City?

Will Forster make his debut v Marseille? Will Doherty get his first start of the season? Is Richarlison undroppable atm? Will Son or Kane be rested?

Do we just take each game as it comes without much change?

That’s very true, it’s nice to have genuine options that don’t weaken the starting 11

Its what should give us the edge against some of our
rivals this season.

I know you have to rotate players to keep them fresh…,
But…

Doherty, Sanchez & Davies will seriously weaken our side… it’s a shame we have 2 such big big games in 3 days, that we have to play them!

Spurs don't have to play them. It's early in the season. I cannot believe any player is burnt out after just six games. Talk of burnout used to be in March or thereabouts. Now we are talking in September!!!!

That would be the Sanchez who weakened us so much we didnt let a goal in in 10 hours play with him on teh pitch

And Doherty who was instrumental to our great form through Fab and March last year, and when he got injured we lost at home to BHA and then drew at Brentford.

And Davies who played almost every game under Conte, in achieving top 4 with some extremely impressive form and defensive numbers!

Not that you want to prioritise either but City is the more important game right now. Not that we should take Marseille or the CL likely as we can play a strong team in both, but I would say we can risk a Sanchez in defence in the CL. Maybe give Spence a run out too?

OM:

Lloris
Sanchez* Dier Lenglet
Doherty/Spence Højbjerg/Bentancur Bissouma** Perisic
Kulusevski Kane Richarlison***

City:

Lloris
Romero Dier Davies
Emerson Højbjerg Bentancur Sessegnon
Kulusevski Kane Son

Should rotate the wingbacks out and play the ones at the weekend who did so well against city last season

*Romero didnt look at full fitness at the weekend, wouldnt risk him with 2 games in a week so soon back from injury with such important games coming thick and fast

**Bentancur/Hojbjerg should get a rest for this one with lots of games coming up

***Son is usually lethal vs City and Richarlison deserves a CL start, giving Sonny a rest
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with this completely. What has happened to Phenom?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Weird how we can't rest Dier. So he plays every match?
