Conte rules out Lucas for Champions League vs. Marseille.
Now then, Antonio is not at all happy about our coming schedule of fixtures:
"Tottenham hosts Marseille, then travel to Manchester City for a Saturday afternoon Premier League fixture on Saturday before a trip to Lisbon to face Sporting in the UCL the following Tuesday. When asked in his pre-match press conference about Tottenham running into some fixture congestion early in the season, Conte admitted that he’s concerned about how many matches Spurs are playing in such a short period of time."
"“Honestly to see this schedule about Tottenham is incredible, It’s crazy. We played three games in six days against Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Fulham, now we are playing after four days but we are starting to then play three important games against Marseille Champions League, City away, Sporting Lisbon away in six days. I hate it when managers moan about fixture congestion. The simple thing then would be to hand over your European place to another club then.
Conte does not want to morph into another Klopp or Guardiola always moaning. It is really annoying. Just get on with it.
No real excuse for modern managers to moan when they all have massive squads to work with.
All the old time managers managed three or four competitions with about 14 or 15 first team players.

Sure but if Spurs line up with say Lucas (I know he is injured) Gil and Richarlison up front tonight and rotate Kane, Son and Kulu, the fans will schitt a brick - and yet all he would be doing is rotating the squad and using the massive squad.
What Conte was actually pointing out was that Spurs have twice this season already had to play 3 games in 6 days whereas none of the other top sides have - Liverpool have come the closest with 3 games in 7 days and City have had 3 games in 8 days. Conte was asking why we have had to do 3 games in 6 days twice

No he didn't do it consistently at all when he won the EPL. Chelsea were out of Europe that season.
