So defensive so lethargic so boring. No controlling creative midfield. Two defensively minded midfielders behind front three. It’s not even as if our back 5 are stellar. We have Dier, Davies and Royal in there…!!
I hate the boring performances so far this season, nowhere near the back end of last season. Turgid football and tactics. Great that Richarlison was bought as Plan B up front. Where is our Plan B in the middle of the pitch? No creativity or game controlling midfielder. No other option or Plan B in rear 2/3 of the pitch, not enough or quick enough substitutions. We so need an Eriksen type of a player, not Eriksen himself, but that type of player. I’m bored with Spurs this season. Only Kulusevski and Richarlison have performed. Hope Conte sorts this mess out as we are in a slightly false position in the league based on level of our performances to date. Yes it’s great to grind out a result at Chelsea but most other 523 performances have been awful to watch over 90 minutes.
I’m bored with 523 formation. I hate it

Would never happen, but I’d like 4-3-3
Lloris
Royal Romero Dier Perisic
Bissouma PEH Bents
Kulu Richy
Kane
We are overrun in midfield every single game

Think 3 in midfield is badly needed but Spurs really don't have the players for a back 4 at all. So that means 352, which might work nicely with Bentancur/Hojbjerg/Bissouma in midfield - one sitting (probably Bentancur) and the other two breaking lines. Would also need Doherty or Spence to provide more width high up the pitch.
It would also mean dropping Son and/or Kulusevski though, which doesn't seem like a great move, even if Kane/Richarlison up top could be decent. If only Kulusevski had any history playing as a centre mid.

Lloris
Romero - Dier - Lenglet
Spence/Doherty - Hojbjerg - Bentancur - Bissouma - Perisic
Kane - Richarlison
Not starting either Son or Kulusevski would be insanity though

But a back 4 of Royal Romero Dier Perisic would be horrendous. Equally so if Doherty, Spence, Davies, Sanchez, Sessegnon were brought into their respective spots in a back 4. I think Royal is the only one of that whole list who would actually fit naturally in a back 4. Thus is what happens when you buy a bunch of players for a specific formation.

Maybe Romero tbf, I dunno if Atalanta ever played a back 4 but I know he's played there for Argentina

Yes, it’s not perfect by any stretch, but I am so sick of watching us play. Granted, we have picked up points, but as today has proved, results will catch up with performances sooner or later so something needs to change.
For me, the priority is to add a man into central midfield so we can retain possession. Whether it’s 433 or 352, it needs to happen.

Also, in my team, I turn Dier and Perisic into better defenders that suit a back 4

Said all along...a real 343 doesn't use wingbacks it uses wide midfielders. We have been playing 523 for ages and shocked that we don't have enough attacking options.
Stick kulu on the left and Perisic on the flanks with ball playing CBs and the team would have better shape.

We should give Lenglet a chance

Dunno why Davies was in squad and Lenglet benched. However we had chances to win. Got sucker punched at the end.
I think there’s something wrong with our cross field passing. Balloon balls take far too long to reach receiver. So no fast counter attacks.
