Who do u want & can we afford to sack him?

So far there’s no news coming out of sources close to the KP that a change is likely to be announced today but of course the club have a habit of keeping things very under the radar. I personally still think there’s a chance he will be here for the Forest game as the board are in a position they probably didn’t expect to be and have to wrangle with compensation issues and assessing who is available. Let’s see!

So the question is who would you want?

Thomas Frank is distancing himself from the role and who can blame him! Needless to say he would be very good

Other candidates then;

Sean Dyche: The big man from Chesterfield plays football like it’s still 1982 but would sort the defence out I guess

Urs Fischer: Done a remarkable job with Union Berlin but unproven in the PL

Marcelo Bielsa: Would get the players giving 150%, high intensity, high press but leaves holes at the back

Steve Cooper: Assuming he gets sacked by Forest in the next few days

Rafa: Surely past his sell by date now

Any other suggestions??

I could easily a scenario where Rodgers stays, we get a narrow victory over Forest, Rodgers gets more time, and then we lose to Bournemouth and Palace and end up even further adrift.

If Top doesn’t sack Rodgers before Forest then he’s confirming my fears that both him and the board are part of the problem and taking the club in the wrong direction after the success under Vichai.

It’s obvious to everyone that it won’t improve, so the only thing to do now is to sack him and start the recruitment process while we have an international break. Failure to do so would leave us stranded after the Forest game with no manager in place for a run of winnable games that we need to get points from.

If the club have decided to give him more time, either because they can't/won't sack him, or they genuinely believe he'll turn it around, the club need to get that information out. Either through official club channels or the national press. Stop the speculation and let everyone know where they stand.

Of course, doing this would put Rodgers under pressure, as it would be another barrier to his payoff. Put it back on him; does he want to wreck his reputation further by leading a club to relegation? The media are already turning on him (albeit painfully slowly), imagine what they'll be saying after a few more weeks of this. Give him the choice; stay on and face the drop, or resign for a reduced settlement.

In fact, I'd go a step further - issue a statement saying Rodgers has the full backing of the club and they intend for him to stay for the remainder of his contract length. Scare the poisonous dwarf into thinking he'll be forced to manage in the Championship next season. See how much the little wazzock is prepared to risk.

I know that's an unrealistic scenario, but to be honest I think today was when it all sunk in. We are going down under Rodgers, and the board won't act. If we're going down, we might as well take the cvnt down with us. Burn everything with fire.

Clearly you think he’s failing as a coach at LCFC, but do you also hate him as a man? Pretty scathing personal insults.

To be fair, this is unusual for Foxello. He’s normally eloquent and I’ve never known him to speak ill of someone before now. He’s been on this site a very long time and, like the majority, are much more “on the ball” than I am. I can only assume feelings are running high right now.

Yes, yes and yes.

That's very kind downsouf, but probably incorrect given my attitude to Pearson many years ago

Thankfully I am a lot more balanced these days, but Rodgers has turned a switch. The guy has been rubbishing the club, our players, our owners and our fans, is in the process of destroying years of process, and yet he's still here! I just cannot fathom it, and my feelings against Rodgers are growing stronger.

I hate him almost as much as Boris Johnson, and that piece of trash allowed parties at Downing Street the night before my Dad died from COVID. So yeah, my feelings are quite...strong.

(It's also in truth why I don't usually post on here much)

Keeping posting Foxello. Please keep posting.

We all have our issues but this place has been all the better for you and BS (99) posting in earnest. Debate is rife.

Has Rodgers failings brought the debate back to this forum or have you and BS stimulated it. Bit of both, but this is a better place for it. Please keep contributing.

This. To start with.

It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that Brendan could turn this round with a number of winnable fixtures coming up. Starting with Forest. I expect that if we don't beat them the atmosphere at the stadium is going to be unpleasant.

Right, now I've had my moment of fantasy, the longer that Top waits before wielding the axe, the closer we get to needing Dyche, he's tailor made for this situation; anyone else coming in would represent a massive gamble. One name mentioned is Pearson - although I was always a fan of Nige and stuck by him through the bad times, I doubt if he's the right person in the present circumstances. He'd get the defence tighter though!

It’s great to have Foxello back and it’s great to be debating with the 606 lads again. Foxello is one of my favourite posters - articulate, intuitive and funny. Everything True Blue isn’t basically….

For me personally I needed some space before coming back, I think the situation with Brendan and the club was a big factor as I feel when things are bad it makes it easier if you can talk to fellow fans about what’s going on. I miss Dunge but very pleased Mersey is still here, great poster. You never know we may get John Gee and Nev back!
