The race to sign Jude Bellingham

Weird things starting to happen around the race to sign this 19-year-old kid. Lets start with the facts:

Mark Bellingham, his father represents him and is reported to be a Liverpool fan.
Bellingham is valued at €150 million by Borussia Dortmund
Bellingham currently earns £55 000 a week
Bellingham will be allowed to leave the club at the end of this season

On to the hearsay
Liverpool has met Bellingham's representatives and it is widely believed there is a verbal and gentleman agreement for Liverpool to get first dibs and sign the kid.
Chelsea has entered the race to sign Bellingham.
United tried to sign him before he went to Dortmund and will be interested this summer
Real Madrid is also interested
Man City are interested

Most Liverpool fans I know are confident the kid will join and most ITK's on the internet say its a done deal. The fee shouldn't be an issue as despite how stingy the Liverpool owners are they will pay the asking fee because of the age of this kid and his potential. Hypocritical from Klopp after what he said about Pogba but the deal will make sense and they will pay.

I personally feel liverpool are favourites as I think they have done enough ground work and the kid would find it difficult to play for a direct rival of the team his pops supports.

But.... Liverpool had a verbal agreement with Tchouaméni reps until his agent sounded Real Madrid and when Madrid came the kid went to Madrid. Make no mistake the price was not the issue, liverpool would have paid the €80 million that Monaco wanted. The kid is easily worth that. Tchouaméni just preferred Real Madrid.

Bellingham is a different matter but could his head be turned last minute?
What sort of wages are liverpool going to offer him? Can Chelsea or United offer more? Are City really in this race as all of a sudden his ex dortmund pals are calling him to join City?

All of a sudden the €150 million valuations is widely reported and reports of more clubs interested. Is the father sounding out other suitors or are Dortmund pushing for a bidding war?

Onto Bellingham, not sure he is currently a €150 million player but his value can be realised longterm. Not very creative but has an eye for goal, good short and long range passing and has some engine on him.

He will be a world cup starter and if he smashes it then Madrid will be bang in this race. Could be an interesting summer for this kid.

Not convinced Bellingham has anywhere near the vision or passing ability of modric, but he’d certainly be a good addition for real.

Yeah same. There's not many around that could replace Modric tbf. Eriksen but he's not nearly consistent enough or as press-resistant. I guess you don't really replace players like that, you find someone that'll make you miss them less.

It's almost always a mistake to try to replace unique players. Like for like replacements -footballers to slot into the same position and play the game in the same style- hardly ever come along at the right time, if at all.

Yeah Bellingham would offer something else to real, and he’d do well I think, but there’s no way he’s got the ability or intelligence if modric, would be a bad mistake to try him as a like for like.
