Match thread today, because I knew there would be a huge meltdown if Spurs lost.
The result as usual, in a big away match, was self inflicted, but not overly worried, as Spurs will beat Arsenal in the return match at WHL later in the season.
Spurs just never turn up in big away games, they are sometimes in the games, but you always know there will be a mistake from the kamikazi defence somewhere along the line. Today it started with huge mess up from Lloris and Romero and was compounded by Emerson being red carded. Although I have to say if they are going to give red cards for that tackle, then they may as well make the game a non contact sport. It was very harsh, and a yellow at the very worse.
The other beef is Conte. Surely he can see Spurs just do not have a good enough defence to just sit back and defend. There simply is not a decent defender at Spurs. One you can really rely on. They all have mistakes in them on a regular basis. Romero is so overrated, and it is no coincidence that since he has come back into the side, the goals are starting to go in. Dier is just a big lump alongside him. So with that in mind play to your strengths, the attack, and keep the ball as far away from the defence as possible.
It`s only the first defeat of the season, so no big deal, and Spurs will still sit in the top three this weekend, whatever happens elsewhere. So I have moved on very quickly, and one defeat will not derail the season.
And let`s not forget Arsenal were crowing last season, when they beat Spurs at home, and when they were four points clear with three games to play, and we all know how that panned out. Expect similar this season.

What massive ref mistake? Spurs were leading 1-0 before the sending off. You never laid a glove on Spurs at WHL.
