Is it Time

To panic yet?

A lot of people would love to focus on one absolute truth to try and decipher why we are so shiiit this season because focusing on one absolute truth is easier to understand for the many that lack critical thinking skills.

Some would say FSG's lack of investment is the cause. Some would say fatigue from Klopp's intense system is the problem. Or you could point to most of the squad now being past their peak collectively or individually. Some would say it's the hangover of pushing the quad to the last day of the season. Some might say it's the change of tactics and personnel. Or even the injuries.

I'm genuinely concerned it could be the perfect storm of all of the above and anything that I might have missed out.

I have faith though...but I think it's going to be a long season for us anyways.

We came back from a disappointing season of finishing 3rd to push a quad the next season. We were what? something like 14 points behind City last season before December and we pulled it back.

The only worry I have is that Klopp & Lijnders will look at the isolated positives of our performances against Bournemouth & Ajax and the isolated periods of dominance in games where the opposition drop off after getting their comfortable leads and they might see potential in the changes they've made this season and I think that will continue to hurt until it becomes so bluntly clear to them that it doesn't work.

I'll bite your hand off for a top4 finish right now tbh

It is whats infront of the back 6, the press isnt there but they still choose to step up for offside rather than drop deep and do some defending etc one of many problems with it. intensity is well off as someone posted we were 1st last year now 11th in the same category in the league. The press isnt there so stop with the offside traps and high lines. Issue is i felt we had good shape and got back in numbers vs brighton but they still cut us open with vvd ball watching static hand behind back defending etc not helping at all.

he needed to figure this out sooner how he wants to play with no mane and an aging squad etc and fitting our young talent in better. Getting more and the best out of jones carvalho elliott nunez diaz jota etc. Salahs forms been shocking for going on a year now and manes gone. Time to move on.

well shockings prob harsh but its clear to see he used to have more good games then bad now its more bad than good. Its been a massive drop off and one where im constantly questioning how much credit does he have left in the bank surely hes used most of it up now. 300/350k a week idc if it was anyone else theyd not be playing every game based on his performances past year or so.

well for a start nunez has barely played.

For me it's been obvious we needed to get back to basics for several weeks now but we're persisting with the system change even when Nunez hasn't started.

Looks like Klopp now agrees with me.

Nearly winning a quad and changing system. Bit bizarre just to suit nunez when our best goal scorer salah suffers being more wide. Plus aging midfielders being more exposed. Change it asap

10 games in the league....then see

I read through the comments and it doesn’t paint a very good picture of Klopp does it?

City haven’t changed the way they play to accommodate Haaland and we haven’t in previous years.

It does make sense though as the OP mentions the panic is setting in because we have already lost the league to City and will struggle to get top four at this rate.

What’s the betting we are on this forum in the next game wondering why we are being played through and not being able to defend a lead? I’ll believe Klopp when I see the team get back to basics.

I honestly thought him and Lijnders were going to continue persisting.

Maybe the players are speaking up

Fabinho did not look happy in that exchange with Klopp
