Is there a more overrated player in the premier league?
He somehow starts for England and so the media love him, yet every time I watch him his distribution is terrible, and he makes mistakes.
Ronaldo beat him at the near post yesterday and he got a pathetic hand to Anthony’s goal.
Plus he’s an arrogant pr1ck.
Making the odd Hollywood save doesn’t make you a top keeper.

Yeah the arm that's higher up as you dive to your side will give you a longer reach.

Yeah it does. Just because of the way your body twists when reaching with that arm. I’ve seen multiple goalkeepers say this as well.

Fair enough, still not entirely convinced though. He should have done this

You can also reach higher with the opposite arm and get it there faster. It’s been physiologically studied apparently. It’s why all keepers are coached to do this now. Obviously you don’t need to take my word for it, but this is what professional keepers and their coaches have said.

I remember seeing that save as a kid (away to spurs) and was blown away by his agility to get it and keep hold of it. Still never seen a replay of the save to this day which is odd because it's such an iconic photo of Schmeichel.

Shame City don't have Niall Quinn as their striker these days.

They’d still win the league.

At this point, I'll have him over De Gea.

To be fair and it might just be a one off, DDG yesterday was off his line and sweeping up more than I can remember?
Lets see if it continues, his kicking still isn't the best and I am not sure it ever will improve?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His distribution was a little better too, last night... He was actually able to pick out Shaw and Dalot on a couple of occasions and even played a few central balls to Martinez.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You would like to assume that the coaches will be working with him most days with his distribution and coming for the ball, fingers crossed that he keeps doing it and gets better as he is a top shot stopper
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do modern keepers use their right arm to try and make a save when diving to the left (and vice versa)? He did that for Iwobi's goal. I'd have thought you'd get more reach using the arm on the side of the goal the balls aimed at. There's probably a good reason, but it puzzles me.

It's to do with the height of the shot.
