Not usually our most fruitful away of the season, but as good a time as any to play Liverpool at home. The blueprint has to been the derby - we were all over United in the first half, barely giving them a kick, rising to the occasion in the manner it needed, and we will need to do the same on Sunday.
For that reason, I think the team more or less picks itself, for once. I really like what I’ve seen of Gomez so far, but after his midweek red I don’t see him being trusted to go up against Salah. Further up I imagine Mahrez drops to the bench too, can’t remember the stat I saw precisely, but he misses almost 1/3 of the penalties he takes 😳 Grealish has been playing very well, and Foden is undropable for such a big game right now.
The only real selection issue is how to include Gundogan, still such a good player for us. Sadly I don’t think there’s room for him to start though

'm afraid Klopp won't be so generous as to play someone like Erikson in holding midfield and leave Haaland alone at set pieces.
A different prospect than United and width probably will be more important.

I worry if we play 4-2-4 against you because that midfield would just outnumber us. This seems to be Klopps preferred formation but beating Rangers is one thing. Trying it against elite players is another.
I think we will raise our game on Sunday. Might not be enough to beat you.

Never take anything for granted. It’s one of those games where form goes out the window. Losing Diaz is a blow for them, and a bit of luck for us given our uncertainty with fullbacks. The only prediction Id make with any confidence is that there will be goals.

Tricky one this...at Anfield really helps us I'd hate to be away at city in this form.
Salah and firmino in form really helps too and jota looks good....likely city get something from this unless we just click like last few seasons.

Mahrez had the pen saved on the same side as in the previous game when he scored. Seriously? No one thought about changing it since he was the designated penalty taker against the same keeper?
Cancelo was also so close to being caught out by that really nice de Bruyne-esque cross from Copenhagen. Joao was sleeping again. For all the good he does attacking, he needs to wake up defensively.
