Now the queen has sadly departed, should Sweet Caroline be our national anthem?
Really gets the nation going and singing passionately, loved god save the queen but couldn’t really care less about god save the king
Sweet Caroline suits a lot more, a more modern national anthem as well
Agree/Disagree? Any other suggestions?

Joking aside, yeah the national anthem is well overdue a change.

To be fair it has literally just changed

An actual change. They can start by removing fictional characters from it. Besides, god save the king? He didn't save the Queen did he.... Needs a rework.

I’ve always preferred land of hope and glory as a piece of music but Jerusalem would be good.
Personally I’d vote for the Wombles theme though. Would bring a smile to my face every time the teams lined up and the speakers started pumping out “underground, overground, wombling free…”

Wombles would be a good one. Truss, Johnson and Cameron leading the marching band and May doing her robot dance just a few steps ahead.

Jerusalem would need lyrics editing to rid it of the sky fairy clap-trap.

It should be about sport, each with their own, ie Barbie girl or YMCA for rugby and money money money for the England football team

I just Feel like god save the queen (or king) song should just be retired now the greatest monarch of all time has sadly departed
At coronations and things like that fair enough but has no right being our anthem anymore
