Champions league kind of performance

Typical game when you realise how hard it is for us to play our normal game against top teams without Kyle Walker. When simple passes are messed up then the task is even harder. I thought Rodri and Bernardo were great. Gundagon probably should have sat this one out. I predicted the same line up but in different positions as I had Bernardo on the right wing but in the end it was best to play Bernardo in midfield.

The key decision was not playing Cancelo on the left. I felt before the game that despite the need to keep attention on Salah we should have imposed our game on Liverpool by owning the flank and providing Phil with more support.

In the end Pep tried to free the right flank with KDB and Canceló. Both had poor games and could not create anything for Haaland and in the end Liverpool gained confidence and the pressure shifted to our lads.

I would have taken a draw but a defeat is not the end of the world. I think Liverpool won’t challenge for the league which puts less pressure on us but if we are complacent then Arsenal could run away with it. We need to get our fullbacks playing, and playing well otherwise we will drop unecessary point's away from home.

I saw Rodri near he end of the 1st half and it looked like he was breathing a bit too heavy.

Bernardo would have been MotM is City hadn't lost. The little caaant was facking everywhere on that facking pitch.
