Back down to 20th then. A very low-level rollercoaster this season.
Last Game Overview:
Defensively better again. Midfield did ok...up front...please drop Johnson. It's like playing with ten men.
The Good: Not much.
The Bad: Same same.
The Ugly: Failed wind-ups to rival teams.
Special Mention: Samba - apparently it was his wife being homesick and nothing to do with bringing in Henderson. No idea if that is credible!
Overall Record:
Currently we stand at W16 D10 L11
Over the course of the last six seasons we are W3 D4 L5, with two of those wins at the Amex.
Signings:
Colback, Niakhate and Richards missing.
It would be great to see Richards play, who I believe is an actual LB and not a LWB.
Your Opposition Story:
A great weekend away is Brighton. It was in the 90s, so a great time was had by all.
Form:
Brighton have played 4 games since the end of the transfer window, with their solitary win coming against Leicester (5-2). They have a credible draw at Anfield (3-3) but have lost the last two against Spurs (1-0) and Brentford (2-0).
Realistically, this is our only chance of points in the next three games. Even then, it is highly unrealistic to expect anything other than a loss.
Team:
Henderson
Aurier Worrall McKenna Toffolo
Mangala Yates Freuler
Dennis Surridge MGW
Hennessey, Bade, Lodi, Williams, Kouyate, O’Brien, Lingard, Johnson and Awoniyi.
Please drop Johnson! He needs time out of the side.
Prediction:
A 1-0 win...because...we have to get an undeserved 1-0 win at some point.

Definitely take the point but why can we not hold onto the ball for longer than 5 seconds? They defended brilliantly though.

Yates MotM for me also.
We deserved a point. A definite improvement, but where are the goals coming from?
Anyway…19th!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Hard earned point tonight.
We’re slowly getting to grips with the prem.
Everybody worked their socks off.

Toffolo got a hamstring injury and looked like Nico Williams was struggling to hope Lodi is back for Liverpool. Biancone looked ok when he came on

Yates mom but Cook can’t have been too far off, thought he was very solid, along with McKenna. Agree with the above, i just don’t see what our goals are coming from, also Lingard doesn’t seem to be able to get into the game, yes he covers a lot of ground, but he is actually contributing very little.

The problem at the moment is the confidence. Teams know we are poor so start games right on top of us. We then back off and can’t get out of our own half/area. We could barely get the ball to our midfield in the first half. If we can get some more confidence and a couple more results, we might start to have more composure, look more dangerous and then teams will back off a little.
Unfortunately, we have Arsenal and Liverpool next and there is no chance of us keeping clean sheets so think the confidence isn’t going to improve in those games

I can’t understand the playing out from the back. It just went wrong almost every time. I think we do need to get better at it but it’s a mistake waiting to happen. Henderson passes to cool, he plays it to the right back, he goes back to cook, then back to Henderson, then he hooks it out of play or straight to a Brighton player. It’s total suicide. We either get much better at it quickly or juts stop doing it.

Worral actually got quite good at playing out from back with Spence and Johnson. Plus Samba was better at distributing it. Mangala and Freuler need to provide more options for the full backs

Brightons wingers played on their wrong sides. Both Trossard and March wanted to cut inside onto their stronger foot, hence right footed Williams played on the left.
Liverpool’s wide men will want to do the same although Diaz won’t be playing. Neco could start on the left again if fit.
