Aren't doing him any favours. He's getting, or is, worse than Fergie, it's about time he curbed it in, it's not good to see.
And more's the pity because he's a great manager and decent bloke.

The principle isn't to do with that. It's that if you got where you are by doping, then anything gained from that will always carry that signature. No matter how "self sustained" you become.
I'm sure you know this

His point is that the "self sufficient" thing is irrelevant and most City fans know this when they bring it up. The "equity", aka billions of pounds was already invested and everything gained from it afterwards carries it's signature.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Irrelevant to what? It’s completely relevant to where we are now and the future. That we are isn’t just an indicative point to us either, it’s to football as whole, which is why Boehly at Chelsea is talking about the things he is and getting to a billion in revenue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Irrelevant in that it's still the fruit of financial doping.
Just because you launder money doesn't make your new money legit, does it? Same principle applies here
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah. Well given he hasn’t done anything illegal, then that doesn’t matter either. Whether you call it financial doping or not, we still are where we are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, there's no point denying it or beating around the bush.
If you steal money to start a business then the proceeds thereof are tainted forever, no matter how profitable and self sustaining the business becomes in future. Same principle applies here.

Because he's up against a state-funded oil club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's just bought an £85m striker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Funded by selling £85M worth of players, not funded by slave labour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything in Liverpool is based on slave labour.

Right, but that’s not stealing, there’s nothing wrong with what he did aside from your view on it. Whether you want to call it doping or not is up to you, it’s still meaningless, we are where we are,

Literally every club has form for the underlying behaviour, all that changes is the levels. In fact pre the eighties, that type of behaviour (as in owners having to cover losses through their own pockets) was literally in the rules.

Ultimately we all follow a sport where the clubs we follow at top level are run by and played by multi millionaires. To people on the outside, the constant bickering and one upmanship about who is the most virtuous must seem so contrived.
