Next 4 games

Leicester away
Fulham home
Liverpool away
Bournemouth home

What is our realistic points haul?

I think if we can get 5 points we’re doing well, but that could well leave us in relegation spot and a lot to stew over with World Cup break.

Marsch has support of board (or so he feels), but if we fare badly v leicester and it not going well v Fulham, dissent in stadium won’t sound great to the owners.

It’s crucial we avoid defeat v Leicester.

For us fans, we can speculate about the next 4 or 5 games…ok, at the break for the WC I’d like to see a minimum of one point per game.
For the players, hopefully they are fully focused on the next game only!

One game at a time as they say but point per game sees us relegated I reckon.

Agree Jonty, but I was referring to the next 5 games. It's too early so draw conclusions, but 2 promoted clubs are doing very well...which very much puts the cat among the pigeons!

Except for Bournemouth's 9-0 loss to an out of sorts Liverpool.

4 points max I reckon. Can’t see any other outcome

If we can play like we did on Sunday, 10 points.
If we play like we did against Palace, 0 points.
I will settle for 7.

For me, it’s crucial we take a minimum 7 points. Pull off 10 and we should being singing on the rooftops.

We have to get some consistency in performance, but that first has to involve scoring more goals.

Some goals would be nice. If bamford doesn't get hurt and doesn't score in this stretch do we carry on with him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, rather Marsch than me to make that decision. Whatever happens, Patrick can say he achieved being second highest English scorer in season 2020/21 and and an England Senior Cap 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

He will knows that is more that many English strikers will a achieve in their career.

I don't give a toss about what Patrick can say he's achieved in the past - it's about what he can achieve going forward. And that needs to be a big improvement on how he's performed so far this season - otherwise he's useless to us.

Agree entirely that it's crucial that we avoid defeat against Leicester, but it's more important still that we maintain the momentum from Sunday and put in a strong performance.

I'm demanding nine points from those three fixtures because I think it's possible, and I'm sure Marsch does too. I am greatly encouraged by Sunday's performance.

And yes, Bamford is a really REALLY frustrating striker but it can't be denied that we play much better with him leading the line. He's got to start ahead of Rodrigo.

Have to acknowledge we do look a better side when Bamford is up top and more likely to score, however not actually scoring is the bugbear. Missing golden chances eg from 12 yards and one on ones with the GK mean that we come away empty handed even if the team has performed OK.

Saying we deserved to get something from the game and keep playing like that and we will be OK is burying our heads in the sand. I recall last season lots on here saying things like there are 3 teams worse than us and that we will be OK when our injured players come back. We only escaped by the skin of our teeth and it was a rollercoaster ride I for one do not want us to be experiencing every season.

We have a very young keeper that's done that to a lot of top scorer's, sometimes it's the keeper doing his job right making it harder for the striker!..

Bamford's not the only guilty of missing them!..

Fair point, I just think putting all our eggs in one basket (Bamford) is a big risk. He is injury prone and when he returns from injury takes a long time to get back into the groove.
