Best & Worst Season.

I've been fortunate enough to witness some really good football at celtic over the years, some good seasons, some great seasons, and some really bad seasons.

Growing up in the 90's was a tough slog as a celtic fan, we played some amazing stuff under burns and it was a privelage to watch, but we won very little, the first league i remember was in 98.

My favourite though was 2000/2001 - O'Neils first season.

Considering the horror show the previous season, winning a treble and dominating Rangers was new to me, the 6-2 game had the best opening 12 minutes to a game ever

Worst - a few to choose from and Barnes is a shout for that, but for me it's Lennons last and the death of the ten. I really struggled to take to football without crowds, i couldn't watch english football or anything else, i hated the cup final we beat hearts in and i really didn't enjoy watching celtic that year.

i think half of that is due to the emptiness of it all and the other half down to results. What really tipped me over the edge was Lennons ignorance & defiance. I'm glad he is in a job now so he stops getting interviews to sput his phish and wind me up even more.

anyway, what's yours?

Best season was last season for me.

Not that it was the most iconic or had the best players but the football is the best ive ever seen and the amount of twists and turns with last minutes goals was something special

Worst i agree with you was lennons capitulation.

How bad was he.

Who didn’t see that appointment for the disaster it was always going to be?
=====

Peter Lawwell.

It still really annoys me that he got the job.

To not even entertain other candidates in such an important year for the club was nothing short of gross mismanagement imo.

Waited until the most distracting moment - the cup victory, to try and sneak it in, ruining the day for the fans.

it was cheap, it was snide, and it was a mistake which played a role in the demise of ten in a row.

Or a calculated move to promulgate the brand?

Best was the season we won on goal difference on the final day. Beautiful and incredibly exciting way to win and left Sutton seething which was an added bonus. Motherwell ripping the title off you for us was also incredible. Ended in a massive brawl outside the pub, it was hard to tell which scudding the Tims were crying about after

Worst was the championship debacle under McCoist, McDowell then McCall although we were in no shape to go up and I would have been pashed off to go up without completing the set of trophies. It helped us get our schit together for a while.

The PLG half season was brutal as well, as was the Pedro gamble and seeing out the season with Murty. All fooking tragic seasons.
