seems to be a bit of a problem at the moment, but, Rodrigo scored I think 4 in 3 games before he was injured, that was a good run and against Fulham he hit one, so maybe he'll find his mark now!..
Bamford, people say oh dear, I have a feeling him missing a pen,(don't let him take any more!)and him missing bread and butter chances, I'm for thinking his 100th is getting to him!..
Maybe when he kracks that he'll be alright, so, next game a Bamford hattrick!..
Er, you never know!.
Leeds and strikers!..

Yes I would echo Jonty and Maid, Lorro that there is no slight aimed at your good self on your opinion that Rodrigo can definitely kick on goal wise and Bamford can also do the same once the albatross of his
100 th goal is lifted.
I think those are perfectly reasonable observations and the possibility of both Strikers becoming more prolific is not beyond the realms of possibility.
However the tactics of JM I think have lost everyone's confidence in thinking that irrespective of Bamford or Rodrigo scoring, the likelihood is whoever are opponents are is that they will out score us and we will remain rooted at the basebent of the table
A new manager would at least fill in the chasms that JMs team selection creates and maybe an extra Striker on loan in January like Chris Wood could help our plight but the longer the ownership dithers the more difficult or even next to impossible the task of remaining in the Premier league becomes.
The owners are literally rearranging the deck chairs, putting off the inevitable and what's worse putting the club's future in peril.
I would rather have Steve Jackson in charge till January and then take it from there.

Ha no worries Macca, I’m not as easily upset as many others on here 👍

I don't think Rodrigo actually has too bad a strike rate when he's actually been played as a striker? He's definitely no number 10 & he's played there way too often for us.
Bamford needs to withdraw himself from first team squad selection for the sake of his own sanity & that of Leeds fans all over the world. He needs to work on things away from the spotlight. With every passing game I'm afraid he's becoming more of a liability. People need to realise this is not the same animal as we had 2 years ago.

Bamford is a strange one. He brings so much focus and intelligence to our play, but he can’t do his job. Centre forwards are a strange breed and I often feel Bamford is quite a sensitive person who needs approval. He played well for Bielsa because Bielsa trusted him, even when he wasn’t playing well. This one half on, one half off, is demoralising for Bamford. It just revs up the expectations way more than necessary. Fans think he’s rested, so he has more energy than our opponents, but in reality, he’s tense, and he misses goals he would normally put away.
Jesse doesn’t seem to recognise the kind of individual he is, but I guess that’s why Bielsa is Bielsa, and Jesse isn’t.

That's a very astute post, in my view, Marschian.
The problem is both Bamford and Rodrigo are "special" - a bit delicate, like. Brilliant at times but frustrating for the most part. Then we have Joffy, who is a great prospect but still inexperienced and small in stature. We did not address this issue in the summer and now we pay the price. Bamford must come through this sooner rather than never and start converting some of the chances he's getting because we do play better with him up front.

No denying Bamford seems a thoroughly decent human being but he's now a luxury we can't afford. It's as simple as that.
He needs to go away, work on his touch & aim for after the World Cup for his return. The only game I'd involve him in before that would be Wolves in the League Cup.

Wasn't attacking you Germany. Never would either.
You just reminded me that Bamford is on a stupid long
contract thanks to Orta.

Thanks, Jaz, there are many players over the years who related to one manager in particular, and built great careers. We had our fair share under Revie and more recently under Bielsa. Once those iconic managers go, those players often struggle to adapt. Bamford fits that mold in my view.
As fans, I think we have very high expectations of Jesse, especially as he kept us up, but the truth may be that he just does not inspire players to be great footballers.
No doubt in my mind, we were spoiled in Bielsa's first three years and sadly, without him, we are losing the identity he created, one day at a time. I look at our club now and it's just not as much fun, or as exciting, or as principled as it was under him, and we are now seeing the limitations of our board and our players under the spotlight.

We have a history of persevering with players when it is obvious they are past their best. Loyalty to players who have been great for us, giving them long contracts etc.
Bamford is a classic example. We should have been bringing in a younger, fitter replacement for him, maybe keeping Bamford as back up on a shorter contract.
Instead we take a huge gamble on him a) getting fit again and b) replicating the one good season for scoring goals he has had.
This gamble along with the lack of a solid settled defensive unit looks like it could cost us the hard won place in the Premier League
