Emotional character and under a great deal of stress and pressure but not very professional from a director at the club?
Is this acceptable or not?
Orta again

It's typical of some liking to dish comments out but being horrified and screaming unprofessional when someone has the temerity to give a bit back.
The club is still building and developing. 3rd year in the prem, we're doing okay.
Anyone remember L1 days?

They were great in a way VOF. But I know what you mean.

Yep as I typed it I did think actually they weren't that bad .... !!

Give and take! Just like the crowd did after Bournemouth fans were singing “1-0 and you f’d it up”. Leeds came back with “3-1 and you f’d it up”.
It’s not nice taking abuse and owners and boards take more than their fair share. Maybe it’s not his finest hour but emotions were running very very high at that point.
He’s apologised so we should just all move on imo.

I think there is a bit more context here than just he's apologised, move on.
He exited Boro after wasting a lot of money and manager lost his job.
There was some criticism of him in press after TC lost his job, shouldn't DoF take responsibility for poor signings that are imposed on manager...
Orta has regularly talked himself up, his incredible scouting network, but made signing after signing that haven't delivered.
Saturday wasnt the first time his completely lost control, remember him kicking in a monitor? He has had altercations with fans as well in last 12 months, so this is not the first time and is seen as a transgression hence need for an apology.
Anyone in workplace would go through an escalating process if problems keep recurring, which they have with his behaviour.
No doubt he will come under further pressure and either has to learn to manage that, or, stay away from situations that can get him in trouble, ie being at matches.

“ Anyone in workplace would go through an escalating process if problems keep recurring, which they have with his behaviour.”
Football is completely different to a normal workplace”. If it wasn’t then we would see players getting sacked for violent conduct on the pitch, which happens in many games.
It’s an emotional sport and it spills onto the terraces.
He’s not hit anyone or verbally abused any individual has he? If he did then, yes, he needs a warning.

He’s not hit anyone so It’s ok?
Why are we justifying this behaviour like this?
For all isn’t done special case with regards behaviour.
People get punished by fa and their clubs fir bad behaviour all the time.

Maybe something should be done against those attacking him and his family!..
That'd take some pressure of him and maybe calm him down a little!..

It's just downright unprofessional - you don't hear of DoFs at other top clubs acting like that, do you? And he wouldn't have reacted so strongly if the implied criticism of his performance didn't sting. Anyone can see his record while with us - and it's been quite a while now - is very miss, with the odd hit.
If I was AR, I'd be having a word and sending him on some sort of compulsory anger management course before he does a Lee Bowyer on someone!
If you're earning big money yourself through spending someone else's even bigger money, you've got to walk the walk. Otherwise nobody you negotiate with will take you seriously. Self-discipline at all times is a fundamental prerequisite for such a position of responsibility, surely?.

No problem with him there at all. If people are gonna dish it out don’t be so fragile and complain when they get it back.
Is it professional? No, but football is a funny old game.

No justification for personal abuse of Orta.
No justification for that reaction back, two wrongs don't make a right.
Let's be clear, Orta is not a fan.
The club realise this was inappropriate, it's why they released a statement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it’s more to do with how social media stoked the fire with hypocritical fans. People getting in a right tizz on Twitter it’s rather embarrassing.

or they wanted to try and avoid an FA charge,
