Still seems bizarre the World Cup is just days away and we haven’t even started the countdown to Christmas.
As for who’s gonna win… for me it’s gotta be Brazil. They have a very strong squad and it’s about time they won the World Cup as it’s been 20 years. France will be up there as Mbappe is arguably the best player in the world and is going into the tournament bang in form. England might make the quarters and Argentina should go far.
Who will win? And who will be the dark horses? (For me that will be Holland)
Who will win the World Cup?

No doubt we will have a lot of dipshat cants complaining about Qatar and boycotting the event while using any number of products that they should also be boycotting if they care so much about human rights.

Caring about something does not mean you have to care about everything the same all at once or you're a hypocrite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, but it should mean you don't have to have these assclowns going over and over it like modern day freedom fighters though.

I don't think anyone is advocating for assclowns but crack on

Who said anything about shutting the world down? I think most of us would agree some of the closures were too much. But to pretend vacinations don't work when it is so clearly obvious they do makes you just look a total moron.
—————
What’s funny about this (or funniest) is that TUX himself says that big corporations were allowed to carry on as normal: ‘yet they locked down small business but allowed the giants to carry on as usual?’ (direct wire from a thread last week).
What were they doing then, if the whole world was shut down as he repeatedly says it was?
Then he tells us ‘we’ve been done’. Many people were literally paid to stay at home and not work. I myself worked at home for 18 months and saved a fortune just by not commuting - I’ve never been better off financially, or had a healthier work-life balance, than through 2020-21.
We can argue about the efficacy and fairness of lockdowns - too long, too short, too late, not necessary at all - until the cows come home. But they were obviously a way of ‘kicking the can down the road’ until vaccines entered the game. Lockdowns are an imperfect solution, a blunt instrument, and possibly even the result of failing to prepare properly for pandemics. But it’s virtually impossible to believe that they didn’t cut the spread (flatten the curve) and therefore ease the burden on hospitals.
It’s incredible that there are still people who think it was all some kind of plan. The British Government’s response was chaotic - first refusing to lock down and saying it wasn’t the best thing to do, then a week later doing it anyway, then delaying again in autumn 2020 with the tier system and so on.
Seriously, is there an adult on the planet who genuinely believes that this was some kind of ‘show’? I can’t believe there is, and yet…
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then there’s the incredibly long list of predictions the conspiracy theorists like TUX made about what was coming next:
- The lockdowns would continue to return ad infinitum
- People would be physically forced to have the vaccine
- Vaccine passports would be required to travel forever
- Vaccination would become mandatory to access state benefits and services
- People would start dropping dead left, right and centre as a result of the vaccine after 12 months (then 18 months; I’m assuming the drop-dead date has been pushed back again&hellip
- Women/men (take your pick) would become infertile
Etc. etc.
Every single one of them wrong.
