Rangers out of contracts

Leaving the manager to the side for a moment. We are a few games away from the January transfer window when the rebuild needs to start.

We need to be planning ahead with a number of players out of contract.

Out of contracts
McGregor
Helander
Sands (5m buyout)
Jack
Davis
Arfield
Kent
Tilman (5m buyout)
Morelos

Would you sign up any of these on a new deal?

McGregor is at the end.
Helander not reliable enough.
Sands nowhere near a 5m player so no, wouldn't spend a penny on him but I think Rangers might nibble at a much reduced fee.
Jack has six months to prove his fitness, if he can he will get another year.
Davis is finished.
Arfield will probably get another year as the experienced head and has still been useful this season.
Kent i'm sure Rangers would love to sign him but i suspect he is off.
Tillman at 5m is a push, he's got lots of talent and done quite well but it's a position we are stacked in with Hagi, Lawrence and Lowry. Not sure if I would and equally not sure if we will.
Morelos has been a shadow of the player we know he can be. Would we want to sign him up again? A gamble i would take with a 1/2yr extension if he wants to stay. Interest in him will be drying up with his performances so i don't think this one is over yet.

Interested mainly in opinions on Sands, Jack, Arfield, Tillman and Morelos. Will we and would you?

Going back to the OP....in all honesty, I'd let them all go

Ridiculous that we are in a situation to let players like Kent and Morelos go for did all given where their value was a year or two ago...stupidly never cashed in if there was an opportunity to do so

We need a clear out and freshening up

Would have felt like a disaster saying that a few months ago but I can understand the thought.

Think we’ve got a big overhaul coming regardless but 1/2 for continuity can be a good thing.

This is where we were when Rodgers came in. Wanted everyone gone and replaced. Same with Lennon although to a lesser extent.

A good manager/coach makes players better and instils in them a sense of belief, purpose and recognition of what they are capable of.

Nobody can come in and replace pretty much an entire team in one season and expect any success. It just doesn’t happen.

Rangers have capable players who can be managed better. A few need replacing. Not the entire team.

Yup, say it every year but squad of 30 something and average contract length then it is inevitable these are the types of numbers needing dealt with every window.

Would like to see us go for younger players but there needs to be a balance. 1 or 2 experienced types then early or mid twenties ideally.

Understand that's being said...but the list above is players our of contract, or players that need a lot ofoneu spent to keep them

I'd let them all go, use that cash elsewhere...these guys have had their shot...new manager or not, they've not earned a new contract...cheerio

The idea of letting Kent go on a free is beyond deluded.

We might not be able to agree a deal with him, but quite obviously keeping him would be a massive boost.
