The clock is surely ticking now on both of their United careers.
I had previously defended Donny. I felt he never got a fair crack of the whip. He kept getting dropped after any poor display while others could be awful for 5-6 games and retain their place.
However, he's now had 3 starts in a row. Correct me if I'm wrong but I reckon that's a first for him at United. Anyway, he hasn't been near good enough and has been anonymous. I feel a bit sorry for him but he hides on the pitch. A move back to Ajax or elsewhere is best at this stage.
Maguire is another who needs to move on for both the club and his own sake. His weakness was exploited again for Watkins goal and he looked so shaky in possession (which is meant to be one of his strengths). Even in his last start against West Ham while he made a great block late when we were sitting deep, he was caught a few times in the first half.
He doesn't suit how we want to play and he rightly looks to be 4th choice now. Hopefully he has a good World Cup which may generate some interest. I've no doubt he can be a good player for someone but not for us under ETH.
Nothing against either lad but along with AWB and a few more they need to be moved on.
