to Spurs now? He has been at the club long enough now, but seems to be getting worse and worse. He was awful again today. Stood like a statute for the first two Leeds goals. Constantly passed the ball out of defence straight to Leeds players all afternoon. Why did Conte sub Lenglet off and not Dier?
I don`t like singling out players, but he has to be replaced in January. He is slow, passing is awful, and he just doesn`t offer anything to Spurs anymore. Emerson is not playing well either, but Dier is equally if not worse.
The defence was comically bad again today, and every time Leeds attacked, I thought they were going to score. Zero organisation from Dier or Lloris, the two senior men at the back. Lloris is as bad with his kicking, it`s rubbish, and the ball keeps coming back.
I don`t like singling out players, I am sure they are all trying, but seriously Dier for a player that has been at the club so long is still making the same mistakes he was five or six years back.
The question is what does he have on all the managers that still keep picking him?

Royal is the only really bad signing. And maybe Gill. The rest have done well and improved us. It's the likes of Davies and Dier holding us back.

Grandspurs making some sound comments again.
I can’t believe some of you lot are leaning on the fact that we’re playing midweek more so it’s harder. Are you fecking kidding me. Arsenal seem to be managing it and they’re not rotating that much at all. Maybe, just maybe, our players are more exhausted because Conte plays the same team in every game, has no faith in club signing Spence despite the fact that we can all see he’s better than Emerson and his style of football means our players chase the ball instead of retaining it. His game plan is why they’re exhausted and can’t perform every 4 days.
Plus Grandspurs has already touched on it. We all agree our defence is dreadful but the same guy responsible for bringing in Royal is the same one trusted to overhaul the defence. Are you sure that’s a good idea? We spent 60m buying a sub attacker instead of spending in the right areas at the back. Conte moans about the playing staff and then spends in the wrong areas. To my mind, Richy hasn’t done anything. So far he’s a complete dud.
I’d like to see both Conte and Paratici gone in the summer as they’ve both failed. Recruitment has been poor and Conte can’t get a tune out of any team unless he has a week to prepare each game, which is massively unrealistic for a team hoping to stay in the top four. He is terrible at managing a squad.
Oh, and can we stop this “we were in the conference league and in 9th position when he took over” nonsense? It was a false position from a squad shattered in confidence after Jose and made worse by Nuno. We were still probably, on paper, the 4th or 5th best team at the time. I doubt if the side Redknapp inherited was the worst team in the league either. Stop picking weak stats to suit your narrative.

Grandspur, one game a week has helped them immensely. I still don't overly rate them. And I don't see them above Spurs in May

Very poor Prem this season. None of the so called big hitters are at the races, Chelsea, United, Liverpool miles off the pace. Spurs have been poor all season, yet sit comfortably in the top four. Newcastle have an attack that contains Wilson and Wood. Arsenal are trying to go through the whole season just using the same 11 players. City are blowing hot and cold, and take away Haalands goals, and they would probably also be well off the pace.

I didn`t say that, one or two teams like Brighton and Leeds I enjoy watching. And as far as I am aware the season does not end in early November. Arsenal and Newcastle have just had decent starts, there is still two-thirds of the season to play yet.

Text book Sandy going in to reverse gear after he wrote off Arsenal at the start of the yea when most of us could see they’d be a threat. 5 points clear going in to Christmas doesn’t happen by accident so fair play to them. It will be interesting to see if the World Cup break hinders or helps them.
As for us, we’ve clearly got bigger issues so the break may have come at a good time for everyone to reset. Hopefully Kane doesn’t burn out (although I wouldn’t be surprised to see England crashing out at the group stage).

It's November, not May. Plenty of teams have been top in November, then dropped right off. Arsenal still have to go to Spurs, Liverpool, City, Newcastle etc.

I doubt any other manager available to us at the time would have us where we are. If anyone was offered CL last 16 and top 4 before the world cup break, they would have taken it.

Yes, Sandy, but you've not taken into account the fact that the bigger teams have had a major dip. United, Liverpool and Chelsea will wake up eventually. Under normal circumstances, we wouldn't be in the top four. We're only there because others have faltered. Then there's the CL group which we were massively fortunate to escape from, plus it was the most favourable of all the groups.
You can't just look at the stats as they don't tell the entire story. Not even close. Performances are why the fans are booing. We've been terrible and only really start playing when we have no choice but to attack. It's down to the manager, not the players.
