A revelation in defence...
Oozes composure and brilliance.
Risen to the occasion, under immense pressure.
Pertinent reminder that the intention wasn't even for Chalobah to stay in the first-team squad this season or last...(Tuchel)
Never have seen this emergence and quality had the Kounde deal gone through (or Fofana available).
When starting matches Chalobah' impact on the right side of defence is evident, stable and record speaks for itself...significantly less shots/goals conceded & less defeats over a large sample size of matches.
Barely put a foot wrong when called upon.
Contender for player of the year, at the moment.
This is just further evidence and a case study that managers should trust players from within!
Our standout home-produced products have more than shown they can be relied on at the highest level, to help achieve their goals in short and long-term (more so than some experienced seniors).
Their development should always be the main priority over (expensive) vanity signings.
A place in the England squad (over Coady or Dier) should have transpired, but favouritism ultimately prevailed over logical sense.

He's bang average

He’ll probably spend four of those on loan.

Looked poor when I have seen him play. Doubt Southgate elgave him a second thought.
Rewarding mediocrity with long contracts always is a bad idea.

Solid squad player.

Testament to our academy that we carry on producing good level squad players like him.
Ampadu should’ve followed same loan pathway as him

Yup, not sure we didn't keep Ampadu this season. Poor move on the club's part as he is a super versatile player that we definitely could have used this season. At least we got it right with Chalobah.
