Stoppage time

I think it is fair for all.

In WC2022 Qatar - Referees have been instructed to keep track of all delays in the game in an effort to maximize the amount of effective game play. This comes after Soccer Metrics Research found the average amount of effective playing time in the 2018 World Cup was between 52 to 58 minutes, much lower than the 60 to 67 minutes range at the 2014 World Cup. Referees are also taking into account any delays that happen during the stoppage time, further adding more extra time that indicated by referees. However not all are happy with this adopted regulation - some say this will have a -ve contribution to fatigue and injuries, both mental and physical.

How can it add to fatigue if they are genuine stoppages? If anything it should help?

Players not use too play this long n r confishuned 2 b at oeak 4 approx a hour.

Playinnextra halvefth hr will cause injuries

Better too have 2 periods of 30 min n stop clock

Agree - unfortunately not all are on board with this for the time being...But it is there to stay

The reason players spend half their time on the floor when hanging onto a result is because the ref never adds on as much time as the stoppages have used up. It's good to see that being addressed at this World Cup.

I've said for years that refs have enough to think about without having to do the time as well, let the VAR boys do the timing for each half.

I would say it's much more mentally draining when you're trailing a game and players are going down feigning injury, accidentally on purpose kicking the ball when bending over to pick it up for a throw and other general nonsense. Which also could lead to more injuries due to frustration.

I get what they are trying to do. They don't want to be dishing out yellows and bans in their fvcking precious tournament but it would help stamp out the scheite.

No immediate leaving of the ball at an opposition throw / FK / CK / PK - yellow.
Throwing it anywhere at same - yellow.
Not immediately retreating 10yds at a FK - yellow.
VAR concluding a player holding a part of his anatomy that never got touched - yellow.
Surrounding the ref - yellow.
Standing beyond the shaving foam - re-take FK if no goal scored same as keeper off his line or encroachment at a PK.

All these things I don't mean a token booking - card every single fvcker.

Might take 2 or 3 games and a few down to 8-a-side but it would clean up the primadonna scheitehousery PDQ.
