"Best midfielder in the world"

Tweeted Neymar after today's game about Casemiro, which Tite agreed with. Biased? Yes, but turning 31 next year, he should be a great signing for the next 3-4 seasons.

He needs to go up a level for us imo. Very good player but he’s been a mixed bag so far.

No he hasn’t been a mixed bag. Other than the few games it took him to get up to speed he has been good to very good:

You just don’t understand what he does.

Neymar is most over rated player on the planet. Vinicius Jnr is already better than him.

No he isn’t.

Yes I do. He’s a great presence in midfield. My gripe with him is that he gives it away far too much for a DM.

….

Something you need to get over. He makes the odd errant pass. Whoop de do.

He’s also one of the biggest nobheads on the planet. It’s best to ignore literally everything he does that doesn’t involve kicking a football.

Tbh, I'd try adding kicking a ball as well.

It isn't the odd one though. It happens quite a bit. Look he's a massive upgrade on McFred but I still feel he can improve for us.

Yet another poster on here with an opinion he just cannot admit was incorrect.

I think he’s at 80% pass completion.

81% tackle completion

Averaging 46 passes per game @ 80% that equates to 9 passes per game that fail.

Process is right that it’s more than the odd pass but I don’t share his requirement that Casemiro needs to go up a level for us (although that would be great of course). I think Casemiro has already been one of our best signings since SAF. Not exclusively down to Casemiro himself but also that he’s the exact type of midfielder we have been severely lacking since Carrick; someone who can break-up the play, slow down the opposition attacks, receive the ball and play it through the thirds.

ETH has also done well, most of us are pretty happy with how we are playing as a team right now but I put this mostly down to our midfield and defensive changes. I would actually put Casemiro’s influence above Martinez’s despite Martinez playing better personally, if that makes sense…
