China

Just what is going on there? I was as pro-lockdown as anyone but what is going on there is actually crazy. It goes miles past what actually happened in the West which was quite mild. Seems like they are drunk on power and I’m sure there’s something else going on there.

Feel so sorry for those people there who have zero power to change things (well, they do but there will be brutal repercussions if there is a movement against the government).

Tux, why do you keep repeating how bright you think you are? Is it like people with micropenises insistently repeating they have big willies?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, where, other than your TV, have YOU seen a virus so bad that the world needed to be shut down? This isn't about me, it's about you.
Just tell me where.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You clearly can't because you never did. It's ok to be honest, ok to admit that you've been duped
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My partner's a doctor working at one of the main general hospitals in the region where I live. Either she doesn't know what the fᴜck she's witnessing despite her 34 years of training and practice, or she's a gov't agent in on the act also fooling her partner and kids, or you're a fᴜucking dimwit who's so far down the rabbit hole your nose is poking out the South Pole.

I'll take the gamble and go with what my partner knows rather than what your haywired brain thinks it knows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are plenty but plenty other doctors reporting otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stack the numbers against each other and get back to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not here to convince anyone really, just expressing my opinion upon my observations.

I'll leave it up to you, should you wish to do your own research.

Know several people who died and have friends working in hospitals who now need counseling after what they had to deal with at work
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What did they have to deal with at work that needed counselling bud? A respiratory disease is hardly the Bubonic Plague.
Or are you just making up more stories?

Where was this plague in real life? You never saw it. Neither did anyone else. Happy to help.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What? They needed counseling because of the intense conditions they were working in, the insane hours and the amount of death they had to deal with before going home to their families not knowing if today was the day they had caught covid and taken it to their families. Hence many staying away from home where possible. Throw in not being able to see parents etc if they cared about them and it was a truly awful situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did they witness Covid away from the hospital? Did you? Have you ever seen it in your daily life for the past 3yrs? No, me neither. Can some of the best scientific minds on the planet prior to Covid suddenly be wrong because they disagree with.....you? Can 130,000 NHS be wrong?

Where have you seen a disease so bad that for the first time in history the world needed to be shut-down? You haven't. Neither have i..............or anyone.

But you/others still won't admit that you've been played. That's how easy you have made it for THEM.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eh?

While some individuals deliberately propagate misleading and partial information, some believe that any reasonable person, given enough study time and literature, is capable of insights regardless of the topic and expertise. Such superficial understanding of complex causal relations consequently leads to an overestimation of the quality and depth of one’s knowledge (Rozenblit and Keil, 2002)–a bias known as the Dunning-Kruger effect (DK effect; Kruger and Dunning, 1999). Often described as the “knowing less, presuming more,” DK effect explains poor decision-making and erroneous conclusions of unskilled individuals due to their metacognitive deficits and (in)competence in the field.

Confirmed. If it’s not a zombie apocalypse with flesh-eaters roaming the isles in Tesco, TUX thinks it’s not a real pandemic.

If there's one thing I've learnt from living with a medical professional for so long, it's that there's infinitely more to human physiology than I can grasp without the necessary medical knowledge. The study at home is plastered wall to wall and floor to ceiling with medical volumes almost exclusively pertaining to the fist-sized organ that pumps blood to the rest of the body. You could fill entire libraries with cardiology-related papers alone.

So yeah, do your own research. Research as much as you like, but it's all pretty pointless if you can't actually understand the science involved. In the end, all that supports your conclusions is what you want to believe.

In that regard, at least I'm honest with myself, whereas Covid denialists invariably insist on their deep understanding and clairvoyance above that of us average mortals.

I'm not here to convince anyone either. Believing the conspiratorial view requires viewing the vast majority of medical professionals either as gullible idiots or corrupt schemers. If that's the rabbit hole you've jumped down and prefer to believe the rest of us are blind fools, then that's your business.
