Pakistan V England - Test series

Archer has been in the nets and played some warm up games so he'll be fine by the summer, and I think some of his injuries have been bad luck more than anything.

Agree he'll be a better white ball bowler but if he can stay fit then I do think there's still a spot for him in the Test side. He doesn't need to crank up to 90+ to be a success in England but having that in his locker is always going to be dangerous.

Just a thought on our spinners. Would and could have Parkinson had a much of an impact as Ahmed?

Seems as we all know already that he is well down the pecking order now with Jacks and Livingstone ahead of him too alongside Leach and now Ahmed. With Root a decent option too, the only way Parkinson can get into contention is by being as prolific as Harmer. However with McCullum saying he wants Ahmed to go and do Franchise cricket around the world rather than play FC cricket for Leicestershire, would that even be enough?

Crazy to think that Parkinson was back up to Leach in the summer but now he's 5th or 6th choice at best.

Parkinson should have gone to Pakistan not jacks or Livingstone. Not a fan of part time spin bowlers. England won't need another spin bowler until they go to India. It will just be leach in the ashes.

Why would you take someone who cant even lose weight who doesn't train at all?.At least show some intent to be on lean side and that it matters.. hes just a large lump

Is Parkinson overweight? Feel like that's pretty harsh. He's not the best fielder and that might well work against him but Leach isn't exactly brilliant although he's clearly working hard on it, so much so that he's willing to concuss himself to save a run!

Given Stokes' desire for wickets over control, it is a huge surprise Livingstone, Jacks and Ahmed all got in ahead of him. Given the loyalty that Stokes likes to show, it's slightly surprising that he got 1 opportunity as a concussion sub and has gone so far down the pecking order 6 months later.
