Team v Liechtenstein

Hello guys what do you think the shape will be on Saturday?

Levein seems to think that there is no need to play 2 strikers, that he only needs to play one as long as we get support from the midfielders, so we probably will only go with one up top.

Now I know that there are no easy games at European or International level these days, or so we're told, and this seems to ring true for Scottish clubs and Scotland as a nation, but come on its Liechtenstein!

With Miller out, I would argue that he is the only striker we have in the squad that actually plays effectively in the lone striker position (O'Connor would have been an ideal replacement?) so therefore Levein should show he can be flexible with shape to give our limited squad the best possible chance of producing the goods by not simply saying this is the shape I want so this is how we play regardless of the personell.

I would line up 4-4-2 with a very attacking squad to be honest, hit them hard and fast and if we're 2 up at half time we can then think about sitting in. Lets not forget these are both must win games!

McGregor
Hutton/Whittaker Berra Caldwell Bardsley
Morrison/Forrest Adam McCarthur/Robson Bannan
Naismith
Goodwillie

We have a problem in full back position with regard to balance, with Bardsley playing left without being much use with his left foot, it would seem Wallace is the only other option but he hasnt had much game time recently. Whittaker has played there pretty effectively but who do you leave out between Hutton and Bardsley (probably better players than both Whittaker and Wallace IMO).

Its a big blow being without Fletcher and Brown in the midfield so this considered should force Leveins hand when deciding how to play.

our full backs are ok, but ive more confidence in the italian justice system than those two gooons at the back...

don't give a monkeys about scotland. it's just another opportunity for a rangers player to get injured in a meaningless match

no, if it's not rangers i ain't bothered

i'm also sick of our players performances being lambasted simply becuause they play for Rangers

to be fair the whole teams been lambasted for scottish performances. I do like a bit of international football, its just a pity we're so gaash..

The matches towards the end of qualification campaigns recently have been pretty exciting even though we havent progressed.

Your right Willbur its a pity we're mince but I think the whole attitude would change if we can get ourselves into tournaments and we would see alot more respect (and hopefully finance) for scottish football as a whole!
