the better player at 19 years of age, Jude Bellingham or Dele Alli?
I personally think Dele was better at 19, he had a brilliant two or three years at Spurs, before his career fell off the cliff. Scored some great goals, and his link up play was brilliant. He is still only 26, but I think he is probably now done at the top level, shame really, he could have had an outstanding career.
As for Bellingham, I think he is OK, not really top drawer yet. I don`t see him in the same category as say Greaves, Messi, Mbappe, Pele, Gazza, Best etc at 19, but he could have a decent career if he keeps his feet on the ground. Remember it was not long ago that Jadon Sancho was supposed to be the next best thing, and his career has already stalled. Sometimes a player can get hyped up at a young age, and they then think they have done it. When in reality they have achieved absolutely nothing (Pele aside, World Cup winners medal at 17).
Be interesting to see how Bellingham`s career pans out over the next three or four years.
Dele, MK Dons and Spurs games
243 appearances 69 goals
England 37 games 3 goals
Bellingham, Birmingham and Dortmund games
117 appearances 11 goals
England 21 games 1 goal
Dele looks a lot more prolific re goalscoring. One goal from Bellingham in 21 England games, and just 11 at club level is not not great if the truth be told.
OK, who do you think is/was

I see a lot are going for Bellingham. But I haven`t seen him do that much outstanding at the World Cup, a couple of passes here and there don`t make him better than Dele at present.
Far too early to judge him properly. Let`s see if he does anything against France, then perhaps he can be elevated up a bit.
Dele was fantastic for both Spurs in the Prem and in Europe and England for two or three seasons. Supporters have very short memories.

"Far too early to judge him properly"?!
Isn't that exactly what your article is asking people to do - judge who was better at 19, JB or Dele?

A text book Sandy article 🤣
I’ll play along though. Ali was great, should have gone on to the very top but he turned out to be a bit of a nob. Bellingham is great and will go to the very top (probably) because he’s clearly got a far better head on his shoulders. He comes across as a very down to earth chap.

Now that's a proper superstar in the making. Ramos of Portugal, hat-trick in his first International.

Yeah...that's really something when you displace a player like Ronaldo.
What happens to Bellingham (Vis-a-vis Delli Alli) depends upon his character.
I've always thought Alli got a big head as a result of the early adulation, and it affected his attitude to the game. (e.g., players like Kane are always on the practice field trying to improve. Alli not so much).
