Argentina in 2002 in the groups

If you ask me, that's the only occasions in the last 20 years that England have beaten a side that are of around the same quality as them or better at a major tournament

To dive deeper into that stat....in 2002 Argentina didn't even make it out the group stages.....and the Germany side they beat at the Euros last year have failed to make it out the groups at the last 2 World Cups

Portugal
Croatia
France
Brazil
England have lost to them all at major tournaments in the last 20 years

Based on this....I really don't know where this confidence comes from England fans regards the France game
