Burton Albion 1 - 1 Derby County

BURTON ALBION v DERBY COUNTY League 1 #20

Pirelli Stadium 10 Dec 1400

First of all comrades, note the change in kick-off time. Its 2.00pm/1400 to accommodate more drinking before the England game in the evening.

So, apologies for the paucity of this match thread which will be the 22nd (?) this year but I will play on through the pain barrier of too many match threads.

Derby take the short trip down the A38 to the home of beer to take on a prt struggling Burton Albion team which is their biggest game of the season

I know the last match thread was very low on the comment count - due to a variety of mitigating factors. Hopefully this one will pick at least more than 15 minutes before kick-off.

Team news:- Wildsmith (GK), Forsyth, Hourihane, Cashin, Barkhuizen, Bird (C), Collins, McGoldrick, Smith, Sibley, Dobbin

Subs:- Loach (GK), Mendez-Laing, Roberts, Thompson, Osula, Davies, Knight

Cheers Scouse, very generous, I will bear it mind if the infestations get beyond my capacity to control. I had 3 cats once upon a time. They varied in their competence when it came to rodents. One was a mole specialist, one was so fat and lazy I was tempted to rename it 666 and the third preferred to catch birds.

I’d be like the third one.

Attacking mainly the weak and old who aren't quite quick enough to get away then?

Little wrong with a good old mouse trap baited with peanut butter. Trouble is they are not always killed outright so a light tap on the head with a hammer is needed. Not nice but the little b's should learn to stay away or just emigrate somewhere.

I've got a decent mouse trap that does the job. The expressions on the faces of the murdered mice varies - sometimes they look slightly startled but more often they have the half-delighted, half-smug expression of someone about to tuck into an unexpected delicious treat. Like 666 on discovering a half-eated kebab in the gutter is how I would best describe it. Not a bad way to go, really.

Didn't see it but a good 3-0 win. Rooney, Oduroh, Bardell and Robinson played. Now that we have injured players returning to the first-team squad the U21s are looking a lot stronger.

Bardell looked good as did Robinson but I ask where were the Chelsea and Brighton loanees? Injured?

Missed it, but good to see a couple of youngsters, Lennon Wheeldon and Dajaune Brown, getting on the scoresheet
