The only comment I will make on that is, monarchist or not, it's acknowledged that the Queen did a good job and seemed a good person.
So they didn't have to start making it a week or so after she died,
next Easter would have been better imo.
Of course I'm sure lots think differently, especially younger ones.

The show was actually surprisingly interesting, I thought.
For example, Harry openly talks about how the Royal Family designate specific journalists as 'royal correspondents' and then the media can write favourable stories with the added feel of legitimacy that that title gives the reader.
People that think Meghan is some manipulative, evil witch that got her claws into our poor, vulnerable Prince Harry are idiots IMO. He was rebellious and clearly uncomfortable with the press and their role in Diana's life/death long before Meghan. Imagine falling in love with someone who is then subjected to the same thing your late mother was a victim of - I'd be out of there too!
The 'if they don't want attention, don't do a Netflix show' argument is stupid too. They don't want scuumbag paps snapping them and their kids, that's fair enough - they're entitled to share their lives willingly and on their own terms though.
People just can't handle that a prominent member of the Royal Family has voluntarily gone 'this is mental, I'm out' (and rightfully so IMO)- it is triggering people big time and that is hilarious to me. They just can't handle the idea that society might be moving on from bizarre bestowed-by-God power

I've also watched all six episodes and they both come across very well.
The documentary certainly shines a light on the insidious relationship that exists between the media and the institution of the monarchy.
You can tell from the responses exactly who hasn't watched it, and is just parroting the bile they've seen on social media, and/or is easily influenced by the gutter press.
Media in the UK are great at whipping up the morons ... easy money, they don't care about the consequences.

Multiple things certainly wrong with the institution and the establishment that supports it that led us to this place. Yet so many still defend it.
What is not helping H&M is the perception that they have simply sold to the biggest bidder. I get it they have to amass a fortune to keep them in the manner long after the one story they have has lost public interest. I'm sure he'll see it as quid pro quo?
Another version would have been to step back, completely. No comment, no public presence, a quiet life. M can carry on acting. Send back the gongs, live in the hills, I'm sure he could have negotiated a dignified exit? His mother was bought off for what, £20-30m?
Anyway, lots of wrongs not making a right and the media will naturally revel in it.

Meghan was very wealthy before meeting Harry, and an activist already; not forced into the role out of duty like royals born into the institution, but someone with an authentic personal interest and passion for causes and driving change.
It's interesting that they offered to represent the Queen/Royals, and continue working in the commonwealth for free, even if it meant relinquishing their titles.
They also suggested setting up base in South Africa, a move that would hopefully ensure Queen/Charles/William could once again be the focus of headlines and front pages by the UK media/tabloids just as the 'firm' wanted.
H&M would have been a great asset around the world ... what was it 2 billion odd people in the commonwealth mostly black/brown ... just like Meghan?
Looks like the monarchy shot itself in the foot on this one. They would have stood a better chance at making themselves relevent in the 21st century by embracing someon like Meghan, rather than secretly fueling the witch hunt against her.
Charles who has never enjoyed any level of popularity with the public (even been despised by many due to his treatment of Diana) currently on the throne, to be followed by William/Kate who appear complete duds.
I can only see the monarchy going one way, and it's not up; when it does finally go it will be the end of the gravy train for all those sycophantic leeches and hangers on in the aristocracy, and the vile tabloids/media will have to look elsewhere for clicks.

Sadly no proof. But I swear it's true,, from yonks ago, I maybe thirty odd years. I remember it because it was mentioned a few years ago on a similar discussion as this.

Also, it's a bit hard to just retreat without comment considering all the lies, slander, character assassination that had been peddled in the media. Anyone would want to set the record straight and in such circumstances asking someone to retreat without telling their side of the story is a lack of empathy because you're not in their shoes.
They should have just allowed things to develop organically. If H&M become the most popular then why not? They were on the precipice of a new age, but now they've destroyed the family and permanent damage has been done. It may take a while but it's only matter of time now.
