So you haven't seen that many then.

I used to be a "young people", but only until I left school and joined the Merchant Navy. I grew up very quickly then. I now prefer to be an "older people" as I know so much more. Life can knock the the corners off you and make you a more rounded, well-balanced person if you are willing to learn from it. It is more enjoyable then.

People turning 60 have probably got another 7/8 World Cups to see yet

For a start that final you are banging on about was a total non event until the last 10 minutes of normal time. It was also riddled with cheating and bad sportsmanship. Nah, not the best final by a long chalk.

All the WC players have played far more games at this point of the season than usual. Add to that a shorter pre season and you should see the effects. I think the Germans/Bundesliga will benefit the most from a short WC and a proper winter breaks."

Even if Germany had made the finals they'd have a bigger break, the Bundesliga starts on the 21st Jan!..

Think the Premier play at least 3 games and a cup game before they start new!..

The Dutch side in 74 was awesome and we had an English ref in the final. His job was easier then though as we didn't have players on the floor in agony when someone sneezed. The Dutch side in 78 should really have won it!
