I'm going to fess up here I know little to nothing about this and just saw it on the news...
I'm not a gambler particularly but plenty are,and I wondered who on here has been affected by this.... You can see how so many were duped
Looks like plenty of the Blame should go to the gambling commission as well

I played it briefly. Earned about 9 quid on Haaland whilst he was at Salzburg and linked to Dortmund. Football survivor (prediction league) also went bust and I lost 70 quid in the pot from that. Administrators contacted the users and I filled a claim form in but never heard anything back since.
There's an F1 NFT litterally about to start and I taking part in another game that could go t1ts up.

Wasn’t even aware this existed. Probably just as well as I’ve had a bad enough year with crypto.
No more high risk investing for me.

I don’t think victim blaming the users is a look. The article states how legitimate the whole enterprise was or at least appeared. Running since 2015, multiple agreed sponsorships with EFL clubs and partnerships with names like Guillem Ballague and John Motson.
The whole argument about who was regulating the service between the gambling commission and the financial conduct authority was happening behind closed doors.

Some people just enjoying looking wise after the event. Or portraying an imagine whereby they never make a mistake or do anything daft.
Personally I do daft things every now and again, have no issue admitting it. That’s part of living as far as I’m concerned.

Well I didn’t invest loads. Probably around £10k It went to about £25k but now sitting at about £4K. Easy come easy go I guess.
Main ones were ETH, ADA, BAT, LUNA (lost £1k on that overnight), SOL, DOGE…
Maybe it will go up again in time but for now I’m just leaving it.
Do you have any?

Through individual stocks mate. In hindsight I wish I’d sold last December but I was (am) always in it for the long term do I was never going to sell. Of course you can sell the highs snd but the dips bit in reality it’s tricky to know when to buy/ sell.
In a way the crash brought me down to earth. At one point I just wanted to pour all my finances into crypto because I thought it would only go up, which of course would have been stupid. So although I’ve lost money (although my losses are unrealised), ironically the crash hasn’t been all bad.
I’d never give advice about what to do but I’d say investing a small amount to see where it goes can’t hurt. Besides, prices are quite low at the moment, although who knows, they may fall more.
I do think in the longer term it’ll go back up again but not at the crazy levels it has done in the past two years.

The pandemic ruined it, in hindsight they should have put a clause in for what happened during the pandemic to suspend any payments till it was resumed again.

If the pandemic had not hit...would this thing still be alive..?
