I say this because the money we are spending is ridiculous. If we do not get silverware next season then we will surely be the laughing stock of the premire league.
35 MILL on a player that played in the championship 1 year ago. 20 on henderson who i feel is uneeded. We have gerrard, miereles, lucas and even shelvey for CM positions. in addition to that it now looks like we're going to sign downing for 15mill! ... downing!? i cant believe this.
There is no distinction between the money we are splashing out compared to the money chelsea splashes out.
SO THE QUESTION IS .. ARE LIVERPOOL THE NEW CHELSEA?
DISCUSS!!
Are Liverpool the new Chelsea?

Dear Mr. Chelsea, no matter how hard you try at wums, or how much you seek to justify the behaviour of your errant owner, you have my sympathy. Ancelotti for me is a top class manager. Ray Wilkins' dismissal tells the world all it needs to know about Abramovich. To sack Ancelotti and him the season after they had won the double speaks volumnes No matter how hard you try to disguise that fact, you still have my sympathy. Chelsea fans, true fans simply deserve better. If I've spelt the name of our owner wrongly, I do hope you will recover from the shock, disgust and catastrophic humiliation you must have felt by my mis-spelling you poor sensitive thingy. Still, on wards and upwards eh? JimmyTheRed

Chequebook Kenny broke the transfer record and wages in 87 with Beardo for 1.9m and wages for Barnes and Aldo.
And he broke the 10k a week barrier with Sutton.
Now he is at it again with Carroll.
He is the man most responsible for the overpricing of English players and now our reliance on foreigners

Did a dipper really just call us hypocrites? Wow, thats unbelievable, considering how they are acting and how they are bragging about the money they are throwing around.

They'l still come out with garbage about how their history entitles them to spend willy nilly on unproven overhyped overinflated british players and anyone else doing the same is just being a big baddie and ruining football for everyone

I had an argument on another forum with one who wouldnt have it that they were being financially doped, same as us and City. His argument was the owners werent putting their own money up, it was money they used to spend on loans etc that they were using now. It really threw him when I asked who had paid those loans off

Mr Chelsea you are spot on with your earliy comment but Henderson is a quality player and Liverpool were wise in signing Andy Carroll as I did not want Torres to join Chelsea but I wanted Carroll as a Chelsea player and Chelsea should have waited till the summer to sign Fernando Torres as signing him ruined our season as he was woeful.Hopefully after a pre-season under his belt Torres will be back to his scintillating best and that will lead to cringing Liverpool fans.

One can only hope so - as you said - he was truly woeful
