Klopp’s Second Side

The absolute best manager in the sport when it came to longevity in the role was Fergie, created great side after great side which is something you very very rarely see managers do anymore.

Having signed the new contract though, this is Klopp’s biggest challenge of his Liverpool career so far. He built a wonderful side that won everything and now has the task of doing so again.

Nunez, Diaz, Jota, and Gakpo are clearly big signifiers that there is a changing of the guard at Anfield in attack. Whilst Salah remains, Mane has gone and Firmino is likely to play a reduced role or seek pastures new in the summer.

So now it turns to the midfield, Elliot aside there really isn’t much youth there (I class Carvalho as a forward) so I feel with Henderson aging, Thiago not able to play week in week out and Fabinho looking a bit over the hill that we will need fresh faces in that position in the coming 3 windows.

Sofyan Amrabat, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and obviously Jude Bellingham all touted as midfield signings - who would you take?

What other positions do you think need addressing?

I think we need three midfielders and a centre back to pair with Konate in order to complete the side’s rejuvenation.

Thoughts?

When british people say Sir Alex is the best manager in the Sport, what do they base this on? Genuine question!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
they base it on the job he did whilst manager of Man Utd.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have no problem saying he is in the conversation, He is easily the best British manager but to say the absolute best manager in the sport is nonsense in my opinion
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and tbf he didnt say he was the absolute best manager in the sport.

He said he was in regards to longevity only, he didnt mention anything else

And winning European trophies with aberdeen which is arguably even more impressive.

Maybe it’s naive and wishful thinking on my behalf, but I can see Bellingham in LFC next summer. I’ve read that Grealish is going to be put up for sale in order to finance any offer for B by MC, but I just cannot envisage Bellingham going there.

Fergie had little competition most of the time domestically.

Poor in Europe considering length of tenure

Totally irrelevant to my point.

what's gone unnoticed is the clubs work to poach whatever young talent it can lay hands on.

klopp's second side? we will see but there's a clutch of players that he might get one or two out of that's not cost 100million.

Harvey Davies for goal
ramsay for right full from aberdeen
Chambers for left full
quansah for cb
koumetio for cb from orlions
bajcetic for no 6 from celta
morton for no 8
Clark for no 8 from newcastle
doak for rw from celtic
cannonier for cf
Gordon for lw from Derby

now none are exactly red hot properties but the club try to poach them and increase the value.

it'll be interesting to see who gets a nod for wolves in the fa cup
