Police to visit 1,000 homes in crackdown on illegal Premier League streams and "fire sticks"
Police will visit 1,000 homes this week as part of a massive crackdown on illegal television streaming.
They have identified customers from a huge database in a major ongoing criminal investigation and will knock on the doors of people to warn they could also face prosecution. This latest clampdown against 1,000 individuals comes after raids by West Mercia Police against a UK-based illegal streaming service offering entertainment and sports via modified boxes, so-called “ fire sticks" and subscriptions.
You'd think that they would have more important things to do like catching murderers etc

It’s something they are better off just decriminalising. It’s stupid that if you live in the UK you can’t watch all of your teams matches on TV, but you can if you live in Timbuktu.
They also need to streamline the services somehow. People paying for Sky, BT, Amazon, Premier Sports to watch only some of your teams games.

I've been to many lower league/non league games at the same time as PL games that were televised. Normal attendances at them.

OK. Im just telling you the reason why they move televised PL games from 3pm Saturdays to morning or evening KOs and the Sunday slots.

I know the reasons back in the 60s as to why it was introduced. But it actually has little to no merit.

There wasnt any live televised league or cup football in the 1960s. Live televised games started in the 1990s. And the FA still dont agree with you about merit. Rightly or wrongly.

Looking at a few league 1 and 2 clubs attendances over the world cup - when you could watch 4 games a day - and there is actually bigger crowds than their normal home gates.
Okay , watching the likes of Mbappe, Messi, Neymar etc isn't as great as Southampton versus Wolves at 3pm on a Saturday, but still...

Live football coverage was at its best in the late 80s when there was a match on Itv every week. The Match it was called.
