This narrow tactics

are absolutely killing us.

Its unfair on players, especially the full backs, he’s not giving players a chance.

Got a good squad.

Frustrating

Milky

overall pal.

wolves away when a dubious red card, changed game

brenrford away, when they were down to nine men.

There as been barely a comfortable win.

I really like this squad, tonnes of potential, and I dont think its been managed correctly.

Yep.

Interesting fact Rodrigo is the top scoring Spaniard in the top five European leagues.

Gnonto is a talent, that kid is special.

Adams looks amazing

Mes is a top, top keeper.

Harrison is still Harrison.

There is clearly great players in the side.

They are just hampered by a manager out of his depth.

Honestly I really, really hope that the USA looking for a manager sorts that problem out for us...

I think the most comfortable win we've had was Chelsea bizarrely.

I think he'll be gone soon. There seems to be a bit of money coming into the club and I don't think whoever it's coming from will gamble on relegation by leaving a subpar manager in charge of some pretty expensive players.

I hope so anyway.

even the ever optimist in me, is getting fed up with our tactics

also over spending on players in this xfer window scares me, especially rutter, he is about 10 months older? than gnonto ( who we got for £3.5 ) is worth 10 times as much.
i know if you are good enough you are old enough but very young very talented players are a rare commodity....

Hmmm...totally frustrating. We bossed the game but conceded at the worst time and in the worst ways. Marginal decisions went against us. Some of our players underperformed at critical points - Struijk is the obvious example. LIW is definitely on to something with regard to Marsch's tactics and questions must be asked about his selection (Aaronson?) and substitutions (wtf was Firpo doing on the pitch?) We are always far too vulnerable in defence. It seems we are now dropping inexorably towards relegation.

Even so, it doesn't seem like we are capitulating. Gnonto is really going for it. Rodrigo still looks dangerous. Bamford will hopefully now be free of any demon doubts. Harrison seems to have upped his game again. Adams is consistently putting in a shift.

In any case, the club is currently investing in players - which suggests Marsch's job is safe until we approach the end of the season. If we go down, the value of the club will drop and Radrizzani will not make so much money - he may be selling up soon - so if relegation does look as likely as last season, Marsch may go sooner.

On balance then, I reckon he's got another ten games or so, depending on results. If we avoid the drop, he'll keep his job until the new owners take over?

I’m not actually a marsch ‘fan’, and I wouldn’t be bothered if he’s sacked but I don’t think there’s much balance on here, hence why I speak out. So here is the alternative view;

Maybe he is out of his depth. Maybe we can get Sean dyche in to park the bus.., but maybe all this great attacking talent we have suddenly wouldn’t look so good. Maybe Rodrigo - widely considered a flop previously -,is flourishing because of the narrow formation and quick passing. People question Harrison through the middle but he looked good there I thought. People question Summerville on the left and yet it’s enabled him to score goals cutting in… etc.

Changes don’t happen in a vacuum, change one thing it impacts others.

People say there’s no plan, headless chickens etc. But there is a methodology behind moving the ball quickly vertically. It’s high risk so you give the ball away a lot and press aggressively to win it back. The pressing might look like blokes randomly chasing the ball but it’s actually quite sophisticated as timing is important as is cutting out passing lanes. And we have created a stack of chances and scored plenty of goals from doing just that.

It’s a results business, if they don’t change he’s gone - but coaches look at various metrics and performance indicators - and ours, in most of them are of a comfortably midtable side.

To the fans who really think he sends them out to just run around - what does that say about all these top managers who’s teams really struggle with it. You think it was super coach unai emery’s master plan last night for his side to be hemmed in and cough up a load of chances?

We were the better side last night, by a distance, maybe they looked bad because we made them look bad. We’re typically in exciting games and the neutrals I know enjoy watching us and think we’re a better side than most Leeds fan do.

My biggest beef with marsch/orta is a failure to address that defenders who might look great in training, don’t have the concentration levels and in some cases, simply enough pace to play in this type of team to the level required in the PL. We’re spending multi millions on a 20 year old striker.. and looking to strengthen midfield. All well and good but we couldn’t defend well enough under bielsa and we can’t do it now… some of it is style of play but it ain’t all about systems.

Whether wober helps, time will tell.

Rant over. Congrats to any who made it this far. Appreciate this is a minority opinion (on here certainly) and I get, and respect, the other view.

Another excellent post, Milky. A rant, yes, but a reasoned and insightful one. Perhaps there is some method in his madness, but to bring in a left sided defender and not play him until we have given away our customary two goals is surely madness, wouldn’t you agree?

… marschian, the reason given was him not being fully fit, (not played since before the World Cup) hence marsch asking him if he had 45 mins in him at Cardiff.
