Bolton v Portsmouth part 2. After beating Portsmouth in the week to get to the semi final of the EFL trophy probably the more important of the 2 as Bolton need the points to maintain the 3 points gap over Wycombe in 7th. Form could have an influence on this result. While too many draws and not enough goals Bolton are now 7 unbeaten and have only conceded 1 goal in those 7. The problem is turning those draws (Lincoln, Derby, Plymouth)into wins. Bodvarsson and Charles seem to be getting better the more they play and Dan Nlundulu has signed this week so can that improve the goals ratio? Portsmouth still without a manager have Simon Bassey in temporary charge and Shirley (really sorry)need to appoint a manager to address the slide they are on. Now dropped down to 13th Portsmouth have gone 9 league games without a win. Team news. Updated Iredale is now out for the season and is having a knee operation in the week, better news for Thomason who should be back by March. Jones is out short term with a knee injury. Afolayan serves the last of a 3 match ban today but will he be around for the derby match next Saturday? Unlikely as offers have been made for him. One in one out up front. Bakayoko left in the week to sign for forest green and has been replaced by Dan Nlundulu who has signed on loan from Southampton. Kick off 3pm.

5 loans. Can only name 5 loans in a match day squad but can sign more. Similar to one season under Lennon and we had a lot of injuries and had 7 or 8 loans and had to juggle them.

What we need is a couple of seasons or more in the Championship.
The extra millions would come in handy for Part Deux of the rebuild.
Throw in a good cup run, and we'd get that much needed new wing for the players infirmary.
We could also do with some money, for the Izzy rehabilitation centre.

A big game against Derby tomorrow. We don't have a great record against them away, so here's hoping that we are on top form.
I know we have been playing well and I hope for a win but right now I would take a draw.

“There is money available from the board".
This is becoming a common transfer window soundbite from IE.
Will we hear "we've spent up" when the super smashing special signing arrives?

I think that special signing was Shola. He's already through the revolving door.
Unless you know differently.

Bad for Bodvarsson as he is out of contract in the summer so may have played his last game for Bolton. Conor Carty who scored at Tranmere could get promoted to the first team squad to cover. I don't know anything about the new lad, if he has the same impact as Trafford and Bradley then it will be worthwhile. That's 4 loans to go back and a shed load of players out of contract in the summer.

It's a rebuilding job in August. If we do manage to get promoted I hope Sharon finds some money from down the back of the sofa.

I don't know where this has come from. I've been most of the home games and Accrington and Barnsley away and not seen any bother. There were issues like at Morecambe last season but nothing like that this season. The fans have been brilliant and created a great atmosphere. Be careful you don't destroy that Mr Hart.

I bet Mr Hart washes the dishes using New Fairy liquid. Then stands back admiring his lovely soft hands, just like Nanette Newman used to do.
