Rate the managers - Half Term Report

My report card reads as follows

1. Mikel Arteta (40 years) - The youngest manager in the league and a brilliant tactician. He has a bright future ahead of himself. Can see Barca coming for him soon.

2. Erik ten Hag (52 years) - I remember his 1st press conference, a few even laughed, called him awkward, surprised at his poor English and perceived lack of authority. But my word after inheriting a mess the size Klopp and Arteta inherited, he has turned the club around in half the time. Was tempted to make him 1st but the way Arsenal are playing under Arteta is hard to ignore.

3. Eddie Howe (45 years) - If Newcastle make Top 4 with that team, for me its one of the more impressive achievements in the last 5 years.

4. Roberto De Zerbi (43 years) - Yes he inherited Potter's good work but my word he has Brighton playing better. Another one with an amazing future ahead of him.

5. Thomas Frank (49 years) - The levels he is reaching with Brentford are nothing to be sniffed at. Very good manager.

On the other end of the scale special mention for Lampard who I was shocked Everton retained. His record in home matches is amongst the worst I have ever seen in the league. If you cant inspire your players to perform in front of the fans then I dont know. Actually thought he did a better job at Chelsea. Wrong man for the Everton job. Not sure what happened to Gerrard but his first mistake was accepting new signings a few months into his tenure. At least work a full season with the players you have before identifying and signing players.

I feel like the conversation has been all about the ranking of four incredible managers as opposed to some of the interesting points to the other managers listed

Deleted the top part because the article went south based on an opinion trying to rank manager performances from different eras.

Zero. Nada. Zilch.

How many have City won?

Zero. Nada. Zilch.

Go to bed you fecking imbecile.

Okay sir

Dominated Europe with 6 lads from the Academy

----------------------------------------------------------------------

We got to 3 finals in 4 years. Only a truly incredible Barca team stopped us. And we are talking one of the best teams of all time let's be fair.

How many Arsenal and City won? Can't quite remember.

You're clearly very annoyed today because Utd are looking good again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------Go on and win the league and Champions League then. Wait ... Never mind
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We already done that. Twice.

You haven't. Neither have City.

Keep digging. You look more stupid by the second.

Remember 99? What a year that was by the way. Watching you goonies cry at Villa Park in person will be something I will treasure forever.

Make mine a Treble.

sad fack. Go to bed

After you buy me a treble I will. Or failing that I will take a bottle of red, vintage 99.

I'd have laughed at your top 5 a year ago. Whilst now I wouldn't argue at all. Great to see this competitiveness

The fecking moron Arsenal fan didn't even get his facts right either.

United beat Barca in 08 in semi final with Ronaldo and then beat Chelsea in final, lost in Rome the year after to Barca and in 2011 final Ronaldo had been playing for Madrid nearly two seasons by that point.

What a prat. πŸ˜‚

You deleted part of a comment based on opinion. Yet here you are giving the opinion that this 'era' is harder than the era of Fergie. Without providing any evidence to back your claim. You say football now is harder than back then when Fergie was winning silverware, but what is this based on? So far, you provide nothing, just your opinion. So maybe you should delete your opinion without facts like you deleted someone elses. I could also copy and paste your opinions about weak eras as proof, but i dont need to other than to provide the link to this article

Fergie had to compete with the juggernauts of Europe as well as the 3 foreign player rule.

In his pomp he faced Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Juventus, Bayern, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Deportivo, Valencia, Ajax, PSV, etc.

All power houses of football with superb players

There isn't that much talent around these days.

Juve, bayern, real back then we’re superb sides. It was harder, not quite the same now when the PL and nation states chucks bags of cash at teams.
