Transfer Strategy

I'm intrigued to know what Chelsea fans think about the club's transfer strategy. 400m spent in 6 months, alot of wide forwards/second strikers signed and apparently a bid about to go in for another one (Mukiele), and three centre backs signed.

The signings of the younger players seems like a good plan (Santos, Chukwuemeka, Fofana) for the future.

Can you see the logic in what your club is doing? Do you think Tuchel/Potter have given their approval to all these singings? What do you make of the excessively long contract lengths? Protecting the asset or a way to reduce the yearly book value of the player by amortising over a longer period?

From the outside looking in, it looks like there's not much logic to what the club is doing at the moment and I can't imagine the managers have requested all these players.

What are your thoughts? Where are all these forwards going to fit in? Are they what the club needs? Is there a proper strategy and scouting system or is the plan to gazump rivals to they players they're after?

As a Liverpool fan, I would love to have an owner like Boehly. He's doing what every good owner should do; investing in the playing squad, rather than building shiny stands and training grounds.

Yes, their transfers are slightly scattergun, but at least they're splashing the cash.

So you want The Glazers in other words.

Nope. Boehly just needs to get in a single person on charge of transfers and Chelsea could be a frightening prosepct. He clearly doesn't mind spending.

Why don't you go support Chelsea?

If you're after my personal opinion, the whole front line needs replacing.

We have no CF to speak of since Boja became an injury statistic for the rest of the season and left us with just an empty shirt with the name Aubameyang across the back of it.

On the flanks either side, both Ziyech and Pulisic have failed to live up to expectation, as has Sterling.

In short we arguably have the most powder puff attack in the division.

The signing of the Ukrainian lad and Felix on loan to the end of the season will hopefully redress that situation and I expect at least 2 out of that three, hopefully all, to be moved on.

The new administration have made mistakes in the summer undoubtedly. Koulibaly has been found out in the PL and exposed for pace, while Cucarella was probably not required, given we had young academy players who could have been backup for Chilwell (Hall and Maatsen).

So, yes I am starting to see that the limitations of the squad have been noticed and I'm expecting quite a few ins and outs, this window or more likely the coming summer!

You’re giving up on Sterling after six months?

Makes me chuckle seeing people that have no business with our club, way more invested in our club than their own club. Thought we were a "finished club when Roman leaves" "Spending days are over" or other such nonsense words to that effect.

Green with envy.

So onto next £60m+ winger until we get tired of them after 6 months..

Yet ANOTHER winger being signed while ignoring the CF position. It gets more ridiculous by the day.
