what do we do now?

evening redmen,

well the 4 week midseason training break really didnt work at recharging worn batteries and getting us back to the gegenpress we have been so famous for. in fact weve been worse!

theres no coordinated pressing which makes the high defensive line suicidal. experienced, "world class" players of recent seasons appearing to not know their own role let alone each others.
in fact we look like the team the 1st week after Klopp took over. not really sure what we are meant to do.

so what are we gonna do next? "back to basics..." according to Jurgen this week. i thought that was the winter break was for?
has there been an undisclosed attempt at a new style or system this season? to move us from gegenpress?
i thought the exhaustion from last season was a reasonable reason for this season, but weve had the break.
yes we needed fresh mf blood in the summer but the dive off the cliff in form of so many 1st teamers is remarkable. its almost like a conspiracy. has klopp asked them to play shiiiiite deliberately to make fsg spend big???

obviously not(but i did read that somewhere recently!!)
we appear to not be bringing anyone else in, so what next?

i personally think that starting tomorrow with wolves, we drop the poor performers. give the youth a chance. yes they may get beaten and their inexperience may let them down. but at least they will have energy to implement the press. [plus theyre all familiar with the tactics and system as our youth teams play the same way. add them to some of our less crap performing 1st teamers. if they perform well tomorrow, do they earn starting pl roles for the weekend?
before i get laughed at...ask yourself....can they be any worse than what we have been watching???

maybe start with: 4231
allison
ramsay gomez konate tsimikas
bajcetic thiago
doak elliott gakpo
salah

We need to rest some players and Chelsea is the bigger game.

We not winning the fa cup with this lot in this form.

I would play Ramsey and Tsimikas. Get that donkey gomez back in (an absolute gash of a cb)

Play carvalho and eliott. Need old men midfielders to recover.

Play that donkey ox as well

No chance Klopp plays three or five at the back imo. He just doesn't do it.

Three times in 7 years I believe.

But in 7 years we have not been this crap so he does need to adapt.

I don't particularly filigree but never really been a fan of three at the back myself either.

You can count on one hand the clubs that have one something playing that system and that across the whole of Europe too.

There are a few options like going to a back 5 or flood the midfield and take away the forwards so have multiple false 9's like City used to. This would be my team

--------------------------Ali
------Gomez----------Fab-------Konate
Trent-------------------------------------Robbo
-----------Keita------------Hendo
---------------------Carvalho
-----Salah-----------------------Gakpo

Fab goes into back 5 as you need a midfielder who can bring the ball out

Carvalho is a 10 who can drop into midfield if being outnumbered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Keita, Fab & Hendo?
They've been the problem for most of the season

Play those 3 again and we'll lose.
