Sacked again
Back to the BT Sport studio he goes.

A cursory glance on Twitter shows the usual fawning over the golden boy by the UK journos. I’m sure Lampard will have jobs for life in management like a lot of the other terrible english managers out there who never were any good. It’s incredible to see barely a single journo actually say that Lampard deserve to be sacked.

In what way are they fawning over him?

Hearing rumours that Lampard has been approached by Spurs with regard to taking over from Conte at the end of the season.

Just a couple of tweets from football journos …
‘Frank Lampard is devastated about what's happened today and the way things have turned out. The affinity he'd built up was genuine, his pride in being Everton manager was apparent. He's never complained, never made excuses. If only some players could say the same’
‘ Do not believe there will be any sense of joy among Everton fans at Frank Lampard's sacking. He was admired by a large portion of the supporters for his honesty & ability to engage & communicate with the fanbase in a manner many others at the club have failed to do’
Had he been a foreign manager I’m sure the narrative would have been more about how ‘the job was too big for him’ or ‘he didn’t know the premier league and it’s unique requirements’

Were they Daily Mail writers defending their Tory mate?

😂 one was a Daily Mail journo on closer inspection. The other was Phil McNulty.

I don’t get why he even took that job. Everton have been the worst run club in the country for years. It was a crap squad when he took over and they then sold their best player and brought in McNeil and Maupay.
They might still stay up, but they’ll be battling relegation next season again.

Somehow he made them even worse though. Everton are far from a perfect club but I’m sure a decent manager never has the side as low as they are. I kinda hope they are relegated as it might wake the club up.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Moyes back there at some point.

They were awful under Rafa as well. I don’t rate Lampard, but their squad is complete shiiiiiit. And it’s more than just the players and manager. The morale at the club is in the bin. Their board are clowns and the atmosphere at the stadium is poison. They’ll still be a mess with a decent manager, but they’ll probably struggle to attract one anyway. They need new owners. They make the Glazers look like geniuses.

Pulis, Allardyce and McClaren had actually done good things to get their reputation in football. Lampard and Gerrard are living off their names as players. Not really comparable.

Finished 4th with a w’ank Chelsea squad everyone expected to land outside the top 6, kept Everton up last season who then sold their best player.
So essentially he’s matched anything those managers did in two seasons. Short memories in football though.
