Well…we’re still in it, but unless we sign Mbappe and Navas from PSG, then I think we will fall short at both ends of the pitch.

Last Game Overview:

We had our moments didn’t we. A 20-25 minute spell where you thought, if we could just get that goal, which we did, but then all those weird lines came out and they make it offside.
Saying it’s 2023 and this is the quality of VAR is shocking. We can see the birth of the Universe, but we use a ruler and a marker on the telly.

The Good: Fluid, some of our attacking play was brilliant.
The Bad: Defensively we are 1-2 CBs apart from a decent side.

The Ugly: Henderson palming the ball out straight to Wout, the 4 years it took to get down to try and save the third goal.
Special Mention: Man United are on a terrific run. Rashford in the form of his life, Ten Haag inspiring them out of the doldrums. Cut out those mistakes and we weren’t a million miles away from making it interesting.

Overall Record:

Currently we stand at W33 D24 L50

One more L, but we’re improving.

Injuries / Signings:

Danilo and Scarpa to both start. Wood is cup-tied (Henderson injured / not allowed to figure).
Angelo to make it 4 Brazilian’s in a starting XI?!?
Awoniyi, Kouyate, Niakhate and Richards remain injured. Possibly MGW.

Your Opposition Story:

A barge to Old Trafford…full of United fans trying their best not to patronise me!!

Form: (taken our EPL form)

Forest Home Form - W3 D3 L0 GF8 GA4

Man U Away Form - W2 D2 L2 GF8 GA9

Team:

Hennessey

Aurier Worrall Boly Lodi

Freuler Yates Danilo

Johnson Surridge Scarpa

Prediction:

1-2 Garnacho / Scarpa & Surridge
I know you will think I’m mental, but a couple of knocks v Reading (their FA Cup game) and believing it’s all over in the tie / focus on top four with Palace less than 72 hours away…could see them rest a few (possible), giving us a chance to draw / win the away leg (probable)…but not enough to win the tie (no bloody chance!)

Conceding in batches again, very bad habit.

Pretty much as predicted, comfortable for Utd, a couple of chances for Forest (which we didn’t take), hopefully no injuries, other than Lingard, who is always injured, on to Leeds on Sunday.

We played well for an hour or so. Thought Dennis looked a little dangerous at times but dives too much. Mangala not good enough on the ball for me. But he and Freuler did protect the back 4 until all the subs changed the game. Johnson looked good and should have scored. Scarpa is technically brilliant but his silly flick caused the first goal. No need for it.

Not too bad. Performance levels dropped in the second half, which was to be expected.
Hopefully not picked up any more injuries.
Get ready for Leeds now. A much more realistic proposition.

I worry about us against Leeds with all these injuries. Our strong run relied on Henderson, Yates, Taiwo and MGW. We’ve lost them all and Lingard could be out too. Means we lack creativity unless Scarpa plays further forward maybe.

Scarpa and Johnson can cause problems. Maybe Wood can finish things off

Totally agree cannigia, plus the fact Leeds have some real pace to break with, and an unknown quantity in their new striker Ritter. As stated above we’ve lost the entire spine of our team, I’d happily take a point from Sunday, and daft as it sounds, i would have been happier with 5 points from our last 3 games than 6, because that means none of our rivals have gained anything on us. Fingers crossed we may get one or two of those mentioned above back for Sunday,
