City v Arsenal

Ortega;
Walker, Dias, Aké, Cancelo;
De Bruyne, Rodri, Grealish;
Mahrez, Haaland , Álvarez:

Think that’s how we’ll start
Big psychological match this,need to put a marker down for the 2 league games

Think Arteta will go full strength as they have a week until they play again

Why is this thread dead?

Maybe because we actually go to the match....

If it's my team, I'm either at the game or giving it my full attention on TV.

I only go on match threads when I'm either a neutral or if a result would actually benefit my club.

Saw a great comment on the BBC website at HT.

"City playing it's like a friendly, Arsenal playing like it's a Cup Final"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is an awful comment. Arsenal put in their most half-assed performance of the season with the likes of Holding and Vieira getting rare starts.

City should have pressed for more rather than prioritizing possession. A second or a third would have taken the wind out of their sail on the PL. Arsenal still came dangerously close. I think Ortega at Emirates, whose interventions were instrumental, would be the right goalie!

Arsenal were the more intense side in the first half without a doubt.

Holding is a dreadful player.

Holding pretty well named though

Couple of mates have a bet Ortega starts our first league game next season. Had a shakey couple of games prior to Arsenal, but couple of their chances on Friday result in goals with Ederson between the posts I think.

Is it me or did we play better when it seemed they reverted to a 4-4-2? Where’s Melton when you need him.

One thing that struck me was how much 5 subs has changed the game. Playing second choice players is much less of a risk when you can replace half the outfield players if you need to.
