A different angle on our transfers

We've spent a lot of money this season on

Rasmus
Roca
Aaronson
Adams
Gnonto
Wober
Rutter
McKennie

I'm not sure we've spent any real money elsewhere, but that lot listed above is around the 130-150m mark.

All of that goes out of the country to foreign clubs, its all well and good being a league full of cash but this cash is flowing out of our game.

The spanish and italian teams are still pushing towards it.

think about it Lad

Juventus
Barca
Real Madrid.

wonder why they wanted it 🤦

Rest of the clubs are getting bankrolled by premier league.

Anyway, Super league wont happen, so they will have to think of another way to sort their finances out

Jonty, I don't think the TV rights money is a direct
offset to what you have outlined. But, I do know over
here in the US, NBC spent a ton for the rights to
show the Prem. ESPN, Amazon, and CBS have also
spent gob loads on rights for cup competition rights.

That's a ton of money coming back into our leagues.
I doubt any league makes more in that area than the
Premier league. They are the big stick.

Again, I'm not sure that offsets what you've shown
by way of outgoings.

*And I don't know how much of that TV money filters
down to the clubs themselves. So TV may or may not
help our teams directly.

If it was al driven on the EPL teams being there then why did the EPL teams wanna join ? surely it would make more sense to stay put and not strengthen their competitors?

Im sure every other league moans about the offest due to the English game cos it benefits them.

Dont be so ignorant other fans of other countries leagues know their game better than you do to decide if it benefits them more.

A super league is only a matter of time

Because the american owners so the pound signs.

There as been a super league coming for 30 years.

Got kicked out within 48 hours, due too no fans in this country wanting.

Without english clubs, it aint going to happen, no money in it.

English clubs wont go for it now, and government wont allow it

"If other teams were benefitting from the EPL pound then they wouldnt be desperate for a super league"

Problem these days is the money in the Premier league, I was at about every home game and a lot off away games at Leeds in the 70s, and what I could with my mate when we got time in the Military in the 80s!..

The 70s I went with a group off mates, and we flipped out about what the Italian and Spanish Leagues were giving out, the English 1st div had problems keeping up with them, sinse the Premier league its that league that are making the waves and the others are trying to keep up, and that's why those teams are shooting for the super league, its because they cant stick with the Premier league!..

And where clubs get relegated in the real world, they want guarantees they cant be relagated because if they were they'd have the same crap that they now have!..

"*And I don't know how much of that TV money filters
down to the clubs themselves. So TV may or may not
help our teams directly."

Think on, when we were in the Championship we were getting nowhere near what the Premier clubs were getting!..

WIthout Barca and Real it doesnt happen either, like I said argue all you want the people behind the clubs wanted it, they still do. the fans dont. but the more it gets forced it will become inevitable. last year was the first genuine attempt at it and the fans of the EPL teams were massively against it. The fans will eventually accept its an inevitability as the world and the game changes. Money is key it becomes more important with every passing game and therefore the desire for the super league will grow more and more.

Fans will uproar and the boards wont care cos they will get richer, the fans will come back cos they wont not support the team were to faithful.

TBH

Without English teams paying big fees to foreign clubs, Alot these clubs would be fooked.

You could argue Premier league is propping up most leagues
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now someone is getting the point.

Money is flowing from our leagues to fund others.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But without that happening many clubs abroad would fold and we would be left with a very poor European football world. That would have a massive impact in general.

Clubs name their 25 man squad after each window, Each squad contains no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the "Home Grown Player" (HGP) criteria. The rest of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be "Home Grown".
Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Wolves and ourselves could not name 8 HGP's after the last window.

Actually think the opposite, if they hadnt gone in so gung ho, they might have been able to soften people views, people will dig in more and more.

Plus with the new white paper coming out with the new regulations coming into place, more or less banning clubs from joining.

Its dead in the water, and wont happen
