A return to reality then. The Cup dreams over for another year and time to concentrate on the bigger prize, Premier League survival.
Last Game Overview:
We looked improved in the second leg against Man United, despite the mounting injuries. We competed well enough against their squad, but the difference was clear once the substitutions were made. Still, it was a great run to be proud of.
Imo the rule should be that if the winners / runner-ups are already qualified for CL football, then it should go to whoever finishes highest in the cup run / league e.g. Forest or Southampton. No idea why a team that bows out early (such as Spurs) should take our place. Baffling.
The Good: we didn’t embarrass ourselves.
The Bad: Lingard's injury.
The Ugly: Man U players seemed an entitled bunch.
Special Mention: 7000 supporters.
Overall Record:
Currently we stand at W35 D35 L31
Unbeaten in five and only two losses in the last 15.
Injuries / Signings:
A goalie (Navas), a CB (Felipe), a midfielder (Shelvey) and a pensioner (Ayew) have joined Danilo, Scarpa and Wood in the January window.
Awoniyi, Henderson, Kouyate, Lingard, MGW, Niakhate, Richards and Yates are all injured.
Richards didn’t even get a squad number.
Your Opposition Story:
10 years in Leeds.
Form:
Forest Home Form - W3 D3 L0 GF8 GA4
Leeds Away Form - W1 D1 L4 GF7 GA11
Forest are 1.6 PPG over the last ten games. Leeds are just 0.9.
Team:
Navas
Aurier Felipe Boly Lodi
Freuler Mangala Shelvey
Scarpa Wood Johnson
Prediction:
I can’t see Cooper making that many changes, but we’re also severely limited due to injuries. It also feels like we are in enforced transition again.
1-0 to Forest.

Danilo and Mangala worry me so hopefully Yates and Shelvey become settled alongside Freuler. And that will give Danilo time to settle and get up to speed. Colback showed he can still do a job. And in some games Scarpa will be perfect. Today needed players to battle and not give it away which we did too often 1st half

Good work from Forest, looking solid and should get the win. I have to say though Leeds are facking terrible - got it all to do to stay up

We were very very poor today. We have rode our luck in terms of teams missing chances all season really. I guess you need a bit of luck in your first season though.
I thought today we liked like we did back in the first games of the season. Juts so open and easy to attack. It looked like we had no midfield at all. I don’t really know why that was really? Miss Yates badly I guess.
We also are way too often too causal on the ball. Too many little flicks and turns when we just need simple passes. We have to be careful more often. If we play like that on Saturday we will lose for sure.
Overall though definitely can’t complain at where we are. Got a lot of tough games coming up so we need all the points we can get.

Yes exactly. We were very poor 1st half. We improved a lot 2nd half with some cover and pace in left wing and Aurier at RB. But Mangala just isn’t doing the job for us and we definitely miss Yates. Also the ball wasn’t sticking up front at all until Surridge came on. Guess Wood needs time but it meant we were constantly under pressure.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- Which game did you see ?.Forest will not keep getting away with points like that. First half they should have been at least 1.3 down, and any side with their shooting boots on will have a hatful. There is still a long way to go.

They made that comment about 20 mins into game. But yes a very long way and we’ll both be fighting relegation

Just watched Cooper's post-match interview and he summed it up perfectly.
Essentially Leeds were all over us first half, but the tactical changes second-half meant Leeds could've played until next week and still not scored.
If Jesse stays then they look dead in the water. Some decent players there that we could take off their hands.

Well Jesse has been shown out via the James Bond trap door, so just as well that we played them while we did!
