Alfred Schreuder - we are going down

On twitter it is saying this Alfred deal is just to the end of the season but even so I think if that is what they consider the best option because they want to get Iraola in the summer it is a very risky stategy.

Happy with Iraola in the summer, if that comes to pass.
But surely it's a massive gamble that the person they seemingly want to bring in to save our PL status has got absolutely zero PL experience?!

Surely we’d be better keeping Skubala and co till the end of the season? What is the point of someone who has no idea whatsoever about the Prem league trying to keep us up. It is just desperation on Orta’s part and he is clutching at straws.

Now I have calmed down at hearing the news about Alfred Schreuder possibly being installed as our new coach and feeling a sense of impending disaster over such an appointment I have read up on the guy and his pedigree I have discovered is actually half decent.
Okay he certainly isn't our first choice but he certainly isn't the David Hockeday 2.0 I feared and I can now see some merit in his appointment.
He will be eager to rebuild his slightly tarnished record at Ajax which was 12 wins 7 draws and 7 defeats which isn't the catastrophe of a record some commentators had wrongly suggested. If he does well Leeds do well and he potentially gets rewarded so in a short term arrangement it can certainly benefit both parties and I think it is not the end of the world as I originally feared.
I am prepared to run with this and give the man a chance because it would be a tough task for whoever took up the challenge and we do have a 50/50 chance of still surviving if we keep playing like we have been in the last 2 games and catch a break in front of goal.
Realistically we need 7 wins from 16 games which is not going to be easy but it isn't beyond us yet.
Our next two games will definitely determine our future and if we can get 6 points then we are back in it and the doom and gloom which I am extremely guilty of as I live in a South Manchester Town called Wilmslow which has a lot of Man U fans and so losing to them hurts so much more and does feel like the end of the world.
I recognise we actually played okay and were quite unlucky to lose and if we keep playing with the same application but with better finishing we can still stay up.

12 wins 7 draws & 7 losses isn’t bad, for us, but for a virtually two team league it’s poor
Not read a positive thing about him from anyone - Ajax fans say he’s the worst manager they’ve ever seen - tactically - yes, Ajax may be third, but it’s like seeing Celtic third after the same results - sorry, I appreciate your positive approach & I hope you’re right - I just can’t see it working out -

I might have been inclined to agree with you until Skubala was reported as saying, 'The sooner help comes, the better'. That's a man not relishing the job.

Well it is what it is and whether we like it or not I think we just have to hope this new man can somehow prove his critics wrong and keep us up.
I just take the view that imagining the worst which I hold my hand up to doing is a self fulfilling prophesy and in the cold light of day we all don't want to have to start again in the championship.
So therefore we may as well get behind the bloke and the team and there is enough talent in the side to survive but I do think we have to get at least 4 points from the next 2 to have a realistic chance.
He wouldn't be my choice and if it's because they want Iraola in the summer I would have knocked that on the head personally and gone all out to get Nuno but time will tell if the heirarchy have played a stinker or a blinder.

We never seem to be the team that gets relegated and bounces straight back, like the others do...that's why if AR lets us go down without trying to pull out all the stops, it'll all have been in vain...well he will make a shed load of money but we'll be where he found us
Southampton sacked their manager and now have sacked that replacement because he was the wrong man for the job...

It's now gone past noon and still no announcements.
I think if there is no announcement today then it is safe to say Alfred Schreuder will not be our new manager.
I'm hoping behind the scenes Nuno is being contacted and he will be installed tomorrow but this whole affair needs sorting out by Tuesday at the latest so that a new man can take training and get the players ready for what is really a crunch game we must not lose.

Looks okay to me.. Unlike Bielsa, Marsch was taking us down. winnable games coming up, lets start climbing the table.
I feel we wont be throwing away a decent squad now that jessie has hit the road.

Thankfully common sense has prevailed and Alfred Schreuder will not be LUFC manager.
It does make you wonder whether Radz & Co had been smoking something to have even considered Schreuder a serious option!
