Dunno about anyone else but I'm a bit confused about this takeover bid. From what I read or mis-read.

The buyers are offering £3b and adding a debt of £750m on the club. How the feck can that be allowed and how the feck is it a good deal if they are going to add more debt on the club.

Don't make sense to me but as I say I may have mis-read.

However Levy and Lewis would be mad to turn down what would a incredible profit for them.

isn't it a 3 billion bid + paying off the 750m debt, rather than adding to it?

The offer is essentially 3.75bn. They would pay Levy and Lewis 3bn and take on Spurs stadium debt of £750m.

It’s not a leveraged buy out - 30% I coming from Abu Dhabi where £750m is a drop in ocean. It’s just that the consortium would keep the debt rather than paying Levy and Lewis a straight 3.75bn and Levy and Lewis pay off the debt.

The debt is on the stadium, it’s at a very reasonable interest rate and has 26ish years to run

His net worth is just a fraction of Joe Lewis’. I hope he brings with him a consortium because as it stands he doesn’t have nearly enough dosh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have not as yet really started to read up on this, but without looking past the basic headlines, every article has clearly stated that this guy will be backed by a consortium. God, read the actual facts then go into negative mode afterwards, not the other way around.

God, does creating a negative spin on everything and anything to do with Spurs come that naturally to everyone these days ?

Virtually every man and his dog has been calling for Levy/Lewis out, yet when an opportunity to achieve this comes along the first thing to do is pour cold water on it.
"yeah but this, yeah but that".......so typical.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh feck off dikhead!

I was only stating the facts. He's worth a lot less than Lewis and there'll be no sport-washing going on so what's the incentive - profit. Same as ENIC.

The truth is that in an age where UEFA are turning the screw on FFP rules to stop Premier League growth dwarfing other major leagues, is there any benefit to bringing in owners ready to spend loads? Assuming FFP is applied with the strictest of measures going forward (big if, I know), then I couldn't think of anyone better at the helm than Levy. He's built us well for future growth, no question and if money to be spent truly has to come from in house, then Levy's ability to sniff profit is vital. The stadium is astounding. The ability to host much more the football is revolutionary and the only true way of generating revenue playing by the rules. If we lose him, I worry what the future might look like if all clubs are forced to stick to FFP rules. I guess the Man City verdict will dictate that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fridge, Jahm isn’t the money in the same way Boehly isn’t the money at Chelsea. They will be heads of consortiums - we will get Abu Dhabi money. It doesn’t matter what the front man is worth, it’s the people behind them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh and you know how much you want Conte out - that’s how much a large part of our fan base want ENIC out.

Times are a changing so stop licking Levy’s crevice
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Means nothing if the rules state you can't spend money you don't generate in-house.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Stadium naming rights are money you generate - inflate
Shirt sponsor is money you generate - inflate
Training ground sponsor - inflate
Spurs opening a hotel - economic rights of hotel - inflate

Money always finds a way and in this case it’s dead easy and UEFA really aren’t as bothered as they pretend to be
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you mental? Inflating income is exactly why Man City are in the dock as we speak. They could be relegated for it. Is that what you want for Spurs?

Regulation is tightening. There are the newly-launched UEFA financial stability rules being implemented from 2025/26. There is no point getting anyone in with money they won't be allowed to spend.

Honestly, you call me naive. Check out the current rules and the rules about to be implemented and get back to me. I don't agree with them but those are the facts.

To me FFP is an idea fleshed out by the traditional dominating forces in football to keep the status quo. They recognised when Roman Abramovich first joined Chelsea that for the first time ever, they could lose a seat at the top table. In theory it sounds like a great idea. Equality for all but then it's not is it. It just means the big clubs remain the big clubs and the small clubs stop dreaming. It's a political exercise to keep the little people down there and the big wigs in the castle.

Gary Neville had an interesting proposal where he thought the best idea was to say that clubs could put their own money in but only to match the club with the highest turnover in the league at that point, which would be United now. That way you keep competition thriving without swallowing everyone up.

Can’t believe how in love with Levy you are - I love how upset you are by this

People worrying about the statements of not be for sale need to relax - of course they are going to say that, it’s negotiation tactic 101.

If we’re not for sale then why we’re the Qataris meeting with us and why news of this bid - we’re for sale at the right price

Yeh, vintage Levy, he comes out and says players are not for sale to drive up the price, so this will be no different (hopefully).
