I have a bee in my bonnet about some.

Toxic. Now used every day in the papers, even when it's not applicable. We used to say poisonous.

Tsunami. Ever since there was one in Asia we now have tsunamis of all sorts. We used to just have a lot.

Mistake. One that really can annoy me. If I buy the wrong product at the supermarket it's a mistake. If I steal it it's a crime.
Everybody found out about something, say rape, says afterwards 'I made a mistake, but want to put it behind me' I fack off.

Any others that annoy you?

Woke being used like an insult when it really isn't always makes me laugh.

The use of 'pockets of space'. You really have no need to use 'pockets'. 'He keeps finding space' is fine.

This times 1 million. Does my head in. They don't just find pockets of space though. It's "them (invariably grammatically incorrectly used) little pockets of space."

When someone says "my truth." It's an Americanism that's crept in over here in recent years. Sorry, it's your opinion or slant on things, that's not the same as truth, which is undeniable

I know it shouldn’t but it annoys me when people are talking about Manchester City and they say “Cities success” or “Cities spending” .....its City’s

You’re right to be annoyed, no excuse for bad spelling or grammar these days

But, equally, "Cityzens" also makes me cringe.

If you had addressed the England team of '66 with today's "Football Speak" they would probably all say "WTF?". The ones that annoy me most are "the press" and "false 9". I also dislike the players wearing "squad numbers" on their kit, which makes the "false 9" description even more ridiculous. The old 1-11 numbering identified their playing position.
Why was it felt necessary to call a "linesman" an "assistant referee"? They'll have them using pink flags next.
OK, Rant over.
